To celebrate the spirit of the holy month of Ramadhan, Kontiki Restaurant of The Federal brings more than 100 traditional dishes featuring authentic Kampung delicacies and traditional dishes which are complemented with favourite local flavours.

Besides tempting delicacies, Kontiki Restaurant will also be featuring some of the favourites dishes of Malaysia First Prime Minster YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al Haj.

There is 8 rotating menu that will be featured for the buffet; starting with appetizers dishes such as the Gado-Gado, Rojak Buah, Ulam-Ulam kampung and more.

Introducing the NY Steak Shack (NYSS) New Menu For The Festive Season 

NY Steak Shack Malaysia which is well known for its Sizzling Rib Eye Steak and Towering Burger with 10 location around the Klang Valley is pleased to announce the offering of a new festive season menu for all its outlet.

During this Ramadhan and Aidil Fitri 2018, you can celebrate with family and friends with the selection of these new crafted dishes to satisfy your cravings for western-style dishes. NY Steak Shack (NYSS) is introducing four platters in its latest "All New Sharing Platters" which is available at all outlet from now till 15th July 2018.

For fans of seafood; the first set will have your drooling for it which is the Seafood Platter which consists of an authentic blend of Fried Calamari, comes with a bowl of Garlic Shrimp on the side.  All of the Sharing Platters are complemented with Pumpkin Rice, Fries and Mixed Vegetables and accompanied with a Sizzling Entree to match.

For the Seafood Platter, the sizzling dish is the Sizzling Emerald Fish. This Seafood Platter is priced at RM89.90.

The second platter will be catered to the red meat fans; which is the Beef Platter. For the mains; this platter consists of a Beef Tenderloin skewers which are chargrilled to a tender succulent texture along with 4 Beef Meatballs on the side at RM99.90.

For the sizzling dish, the platter comes with the NYSS Signature Sizzling NY Striploin to satisfy your carnivorous craving.

While the third platter is the Poultry Platter which is priced at RM 89.90; features the Rosemary Chicken with its side of Chicken Cevapi

and the sizzling dish is the Sizzling Duck Chop. I must say that this is the first time; I have ever tasted a duck chop. I find it very interesting and the grilled duck drumstick chop has a firmer texture and deep taste. Marries it with the black pepper sauce, it was a real taste opener for us.

Poultry Platter

The last platter is the Lamb Platter which consists of a combination of Lamb Sausages along with a serving of Lamb Stew. Personally, I find the lamb sausage a tad of saltiness when eaten as it is but eaten with the pumpkin rice; it will mellow it down the saltiness level.

For the Sizzling, we were served the Sizzling Lamb Noisette. This platter is priced at RM99.90.

The drinks menu that was crafted for this festive season are the Fresh Fruit mocktails priced at RM8.90 which includes flavours such as Lemonade Zest, Minty Lime Cooler, Orange Breeze or the Perfect Mix. For those that prefer a sweeter note can try out NYSS smoothies selection which is priced at RM9.90 with flavours such as the Banana, Pineapple Lemonade, Red Apple, the Pineapple and Mint or the new Dates flavour smoothies.

In conjunction with the Ramadhan and Aidil Fitri 2018, for every order of the ALL NEW SHARING PLATTER, an RM5 will be donated by NYSS to Rumah Titian Kaseh. There is also a donation box which is located at each NYSS outlet for you to donate an additional donation.

Hidden Gems Eatropica Cafe at Nu Sentral Brickfield Menara 1 Sentrum

Eatropica Cafe which is located on the 6th Floor Lobby of Menara 1 Sentrum Brickfields has commenced business for the past 2 months. One of the objectives of Eatropica Cafe is to provide a place for a quiet meeting or casual meals or just chilled with a nice cup of coffee.

Unless you worked at the Menara 1 Sentrum you probably would not have heard of Eatropica. Eatropica Cafe is located next to the popular Nu Sentral Brickfields. To go there all you need to do is go to the 5th Floor of Nu Sentral which is the floor of GSC Cinema, there is a lift after the GSC cinema which you can take to the sixth floor. Once you exit from the lift take a left turn and walk over sky bridge into the next building which is Menara 1 Sentrum. You will see the cafe on your left-hand side.

Eatropica Cafe serves a variety of dish ranging from Western dishes to local fare. Their set lunch is really value for money and comes with a reasonable large serving portion with quality ingredients especially the sirloin steak which is grain fed aged beef.

Starting off you can choose some of the local fares offering. The one that caught our eyes was the Curry Laksa (RM15.00) which is served with yellow noodles, julienne chicken meat, cockles and bean sprouts. If you order this dish from 12 to 3pm; you can order a complimentary drink of either an ice lemon tea or a lemonade drink. We like the thick curry broth with a strong flavour of Santan taste.

Or for fans of rice; you can try out the Classic Nasi Lemak With Chicken Rendang & Traditional Condiments (RM15.00) served with a choice of White Rice or Brown Rice. If you order this dish from 12 to 3pm; you can order a complimentary drink of either an ice lemon tea or a lemonade drink. The chicken rendang has a nice flavour and suited with the condiment and the fragrant rice.

For the western fare, you might want to taste out the Penne Carbonara (RM20.00) which is served with Turkey bacon and parmesan. If you order this dish from 12 to 3pm; you can order a complimentary drink of either an ice lemon tea or a lemonade drink.

Next, we tasted the Pulled Lamb Burgers (RM25.00) which is served with feta cheese, tomato and tzatziki relish. This dish is served with salad and fries at the sides. An order of this dish between 12 to 8pm; you can order a complimentary drink of either a coca cola or an ice lemon tea.  I personally find the taste a little too gamey for me but I suppose fans of lamb will relish on this.

For the mains dishes, our first order was the Melting Morrocan Lamb Shanks (RM36.00) which is topped with Homemade apricot chutney and sweet potato mesh. We like this as the lamb shank was braised until a tender texture that literally melts in your mouth. The taste was nicely paired with the naturally sweet taste of the sweet potatoes.

For a taste of Japanese, Eatropica serves a Maguro Tuna Steak (RM45.00). Weighing at 180g it lightly pans seared and served with Wasabi Aioli.

Our last mains for the review is the Grain Fed Sirloin Steak (RM74.00) a 250g Australian Beef which have been aged for 21 days; rich in flavour and chargrilled to your liking. Served as medium rare it was a real delight to eat this special steak which was lightly marinated and pan seared. There are a few choices of sauces that you can choose from; which includes Mustard, Garlic Sauce, Black Pepper and Mustard Hollandaise sauce. We decided to play it safe with an order of the popular Black Pepper.

For Dessert, there are a few offers which Crispy Banana Fritters served with Palm Sugar and Vanilla Ice Cream (RM15.00).

Sticky Date Pudding with Butterscotch Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream (RM15.00).

and finally the Matcha Magic Chia Seed with Almond Pudding and topped with Whipped Cream (RM15.00).
