In the Pastry Category; the contestants are required to create a simple croissant, 3 savoury and another 3 sweet Danish in. For the Cake Category; each contestant is required to create 2 types of cakes with Mango and Strawberry themes respectively. Finally in the Culinary Category; the theme is Land and Sea of Malaysia with an inculcated twist of Modern French Cuisine. Contestants are required to prepare a 3-course meal based on the theme and provided criteria.

In total there are 25 finalists for this year challenge in all categories. The first prize for each category includes prizes worth RM5,000.00, a medal and certificate, while for the second prize includes prizes worth RM3,000.00, a medal and a certificate and finally for the third prize includes prizes worth RM1,000.00, a medal and a certificate.

Australian Summer Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

Salad

Handful mixed salad leaves

1 Australian peach

1 Australian nectarine

½ cup Australian cherries, pitted

¼ cup feta cheese

¼ cup silvered almonds

Salt to taste

Vinaigrette

1 tbsp mint, chopped

3 tbsp lemon juice

1/3 cup virgin olive oil

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tsp honey

Method:

1. To prepare the vinaigrette, in a jar combine all the ingredients and shake well. Allow to sit for awhile. 

2. To prepare the salad, add the greens to a bowl with the vinaigrette and sprinkle with salt. Add the fruit and almonds and gently toss to combine. Serve the salad topped with feta cheese.

Australian Cherries and Summer Fruits Smoothie Bowl Recipe

Ingredients (1 to 2 serves)

Smoothie

1 Australian peach, frozen

2 Australian nectarines, frozen

1 cup Australian cherries (pitted)

½  cup nondairy milk

*portions of fruit can vary on your preference

Toppings

10 to 12 almonds and pecans

Granola

Chia seeds

Coconut

Fresh fruit (Australian peaches and cherries)

Method:

1. To make the smoothie, blend the fruits and milk in a food processor until smooth.

2. Pour in to a bowl and adorn with toppings. 

Australian Fruit Salad Popsicle Recipe

Ingredients:

Australian Cherries and Summer Fruits (peaches, cherries, nectarines)

Juice (use a light coloured juice)

*Mint (optional)

Method:

1. Slice the fruits and place in popsicle molds.

2. Pour in the juice and freeze overnight.

*Mint is optional if you want to add a pop of colour.
