The Soft Shell Crab Yee Sang which has a Nyonya taste influence giving it a spicy and a slight sourish taste to this festive dish. The Soft Shell Crab Yee Sang is priced at RM 40 (3-4pax) while at RM 75 is for a 6-10pax.
Delicious 1Utama offers 3 varieties of Yee Sang for this Chinese New Year 2019, starting with the Soft Shell Crab Yee Sang, Smoked Salmon Yee Sang as well as Fish Skin Yee Sang.
To kick start our review, Chef Timothy has also crafted out a few new dishes for its diners to taste, the first of which is a starter that got us addicted to it which is Salted Egg Yolk Crispy Fish Skin. Once you start to eat this, it is difficult not to reach out for a second or third helping, we ended with an extra order for this dish.
Next on is the Chicken Satay. For those that dread the eating of too much chicken skin which is layered into the satay as most other satay shops do, here at Delicious we can see, only lean chicken meat is used. The satay peanut sauce was comparable to the ones we had in Kajang and it was revealed later that the sauce was brought from a famous Satay outlet in Kajang. One of the other secrets is the special house-made chilli dip which you can add to your sauce for that extra spicy kick.
Moving along, we had another sharing snack dish which is Korean Fried Chicken Wings RM 18. Fans of Korean Fried Chicken will find similarity in this dish. There are 2 variations of the Korean Fried Chicken from Delicious which is Gochujang or Honey glazed deep-fried chicken wings.
Our last appetizer was the Beef Nachos Platter RM 25. The Beef Nachos Platter is a sharing platter of Nachos with all the extras like Corn chips, Beef Chilli Con Came, Guacamole, Sour cream, Cheese and Pico de gallo.
Starting the mains dishes, we were served the Moroccan Braised Lamb Shank RM 38, The lamb shank is from New Zealand and is braised using the chef's special Moroccan sauce which is served with vegetables.
While for the fish lover, you can try-out the Baked Salmon RM 35. The Salmon is an Atlantic Salmon which is pan-fried to ensure that the texture of the fish is flakey. The Salmon served is deskinned. The Chef then deep-fried the Salmon skin to a nice crisp giving the diners with another taste of the fish while the side dishes that are served with this dish is roasted potatoes and grapefruits reduction.
The next dish is a signature dish of Delicious which is Mee Goreng Mamak RM 28. For this, some may find it a little bit expensive but then again the ingredient used is seafood of prawns and squids, together with chicken, tau foo, bean sprouts, tomato and spring onions.
Alternatively, you can order the Duck Confit RM 33, a pasta dish which is the duck confit is cooked using a time-consuming process which the Chef explains. The Duck Confit is then deep-fried to give a nice crisp to it.
At Delicious there is always something for everyone, the next dish is the Classic Cheese Burger RM 32. This is another highly recommended dish to try as the beef patties are made from 150 grams US Black Angus Beef Patty (80% meat and 20% fat) sandwiched between the sesame bun, topped with cheddar cheese, onions, tomatoes and lettuce. The side dishes can come in a choice of either garden salad or fries.
Finally, for desserts, we ordered the Chocolate Lava Cake RM 22. As usual for Lava cake, one is judged by the flowing chocolate lava and secondly the rich chocolatey taste of the molten and the cake. It is served with a dollop of vanilla ice cream making a perfect blend of hot and cold dessert.
