YUGO HOUSE PUBLIKA KUALA LUMPUR WAGYU BEEF ALA CARTE BUFFET - 03-6206 5526
There are 5 Wagyu dishes that will be available from this Unlimited Wagyu Buffet. The buffet is served ala-carte style that is you ordered what you want and it is cooked for you. This ensures all food serves are hot and to the right temperature as fans of Wagyu will attest that if the Wagyu Beef is overcooked, its' texture will be quite firm.
Our meals started with an order of the Wagyu Skewer (RM 10.00 per skewers for ala-carte). Each skewer comes with 3 slices of beef which was peppered with salt and grill to the right texture. Although a tad of saltiness was evident, these Wagyu skewers are perfect with a glass of icy cold beer or down with cold sake.
Our next order was the Wagyu Tataki (RM60.00 per plate ala-carte). We just loved this method of cooking this, the beef cut was grilled to a medium-rare texture that virtually melts in the mouth. Every bite to the meat has a juicy taste with a nice aroma.
Another not to be missed item from the Buffet menu is the Wagyu Steak (RM118.00 per plate for ala-carte). For Wagyu lovers, this is a must-order in a medium-rare cooking style. Although the steak comes with a Goma (Sesame Dressing), as a fan of Wagyu will attest, that the best way to taste a nice cut of Wagyu Beef is just by grilling it with salt and pepper with no sauce to cover the natural taste and goodness of the beef cut.
The fourth Wagyu dish is the Wagyu Don (RM38.00 per bowl ala-carte). We have eaten many Beef Don from our many reviews in the past but to have a Wagyu Don is something we have not tried before. One spoonful of the rice with the minced wagyu beef with an onion slice and you will know the difference in its' texture and taste. You really got to try this one to know the comfort feel of this simple rice dish.
Finally, for the Shabu Shabu fans, you can also order the Wagyu Shabu Shabu (RM120.00 per set for ala-carte) to finish your Wagyu tasting adventure.
To complement this Wagyu Ala-carte Buffet, there are some side dishes the first of which is the Green Salad
followed by the addictive Tori Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken)
or the crunchy Ika Geso Karaage (Fried Squid),
Garlic Fried Rice
Edamame Chili, Yaki Noodles & Yasai Itame (Fried Vegetables)
The promotion price for the ala-carte Wagyu Beef Buffet is RM 288+ per person (120 minutes) while the price for a child is RM188+.
If you just want to taste only individual Wagyu dishes, you can also order it ala-carte (the prices are in bracket) next to the name of the dish.
YUGO HOUSE PUBLIKA also offers a variety of other Signature Japanese dishes such as the IKA Cream with Bun (RM25.00). This is the first time, we had a squid dish that is served in a creamy sauce. It was nice as it has a rich creamy taste couple with the springy texture of the squid that goes well with the fried man tau.
The second dish is the Cabbage Wrapped with Chicken Breast in Clear Soup (RM16.00). This is one of the more popular dishes which is recommended by the Chef but unfortunately for me, breast meat is not the kind of my prefered chicken meat in a soup. The Chef reason for using the breast meat instead of the chicken thigh is it was easier for the diners as the meat are deboned and can be neatly wrap into the cabbage. Nevertheless, the savings grace was the clear soup which was although a little bland was quite good for us after having a few of the earlier savoury dishes.
The third speciality dish is quite unique in the sense of a marriage between a popular Japanese dish Maki with our Malaysian popular dish the Nasi Lemak which is the Nasi Lemak Maki (RM12.00). According to the Chef, the sushi rice is cooked in Santan to resembles the natural taste of a nasi lemak with a dash of sambal and deboned fried chicken that is sandwiched in the maki with a topping of a piece of boiled egg.
and our final dish is the Negi Salmon Wasabi (RM25.00) served with Garlic Butter Toast. We find this dish rather interesting as when we mix the wasabi inspired sauce with the salmon, spring onion and seaweed, does come out tasty and when eaten with the butter garlic toast was a new experience to our tastebuds.
