Sri Hartamas Food: The Blue Cow Cafe - Baconlicious Meal At A Beef Specialist Shop Plaza Damas

The sheer mention of The Blue Cow Cafe located at N-1-4, Plaza Damas, Jalan Sri Hartamas 1, Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur would spark anyone mind that this shop only sells beef produce. But when we arrive we found out that it also serves pork dishes and for today we are going to be served "Bacon Inspired Dishes"

The Blue Cow Cafe has been around for quite some time now at the Plaza Damas, the concept offers diners and customers; to be able to either buy the produce back (as it is a butcher shop as well) for self-cooking or had it cooked at the cafe if the food in the menu does not fit your taste buds. What is being promised by the restaurant is top quality produce that is made at the premise and on demand.

For me; I personally find the back verandah of the restaurant rather cozy and quite nice to dine in especially in the evening as you can feel the night breeze and enjoy the beautiful view of the Agong Palace which also overlook the KL city skyline.

The first dish we had for this review is the Bacon Salad (RM15.00); Served with Balsamic dressing; loaded with fresh leafy garden salad, cherry tomatoes, carrot strips and of course topped with crispy Fried Bacon, it was a refreshing start for us.

This is then followed by the Two Eggs Benedict With Bacon (RM30.00). Loves the way they cooked the Egg Benedict which has a plump feel from the melted cheese and the yolk was smooth and flow out upon slicing it. Perfect with the burger bread which we use to licked up the egg yolk with the soft crisp bite of the bacon coupled with the thin layer of the patty.

To try out some bacon on pasta, we had the Spaghetti Carbonara With Bacon (RM25.00). Cooked with creamy carbonara and cheese with pieces of bacon chips; the sauce was thick and gel up each strand of the spaghetti and mushroom which is then topped with a piece of Fried Bacon.

After that, we had the Bacon Cheese Burger (RM28.00). A very thick beef patties; sandwiched with slices of tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, bacon and topped with a piece of cheese. The patties were very succulent and have a nice bite texture. Married with the right amount of fats for the patties, it does not have a gamy taste. The burger is served with chilled coleslaw and ala-minute french fries on the side.

For me, this next dish is one of my favourite cut for steak dishes. I love Rib Eye steak as they tend to have a nice texture i.e. not too chewy and yet with the right amount of fats that makes a steak perfect. This dish is called the Bacon Wrapped Rib Eye (RM65.00). The bacon is wrapped with the rib eye and grilled to medium cook; which is for me the best cooking style for steak, as the steak still has that slight bloody juicy taste while the texture of the meat still succulent.

The last dish for tonight is the Bangers and Bacon Mash (Farmers or Hunter) - RM30.00. We ordered this dish with the black pepper sauce. We like the texture of the Sausage which has a meaty and salty taste which went well with the special mash potatoes that are mixed with fried bacon chips to give you a crisp texture while you are eating the mash potatoes.

For dessert we had the Australian Ice Coffee (RM15.00); it comes with a shot of espresso with vanilla ice cream and topped with white cream. If you like a lighter version of an Affogato then you would like this more creamy and sweeter version.

By the way, for pet lovers, The Blue Cow cafe is a pet-friendly cafe, you can bring your pets in and they also have a pet menu called the WOOF WOOF Menu; which comes with either pork, beef or lamb for you to choose for your pets. So, now you can dine with your pets at The Blue Cow Cafe.

They also have a counter where you can buy produce for your pets too; mind you; they have a peanut butter just for your pets too if you feel to indulge in.

Mumbai Delights Mont Kiara - Authentic North Indian Vegetarian Street Food - Best Restaurant Review

There are a lot of people who loves a vegetarian meals once in a while. Some of these vegetarian meals are purely vegetables based; while others are chutney or soy based but we found out that it can also be cheese based. Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to a vegetarian food review at Mumbai Delights located at Block E, 01-04, Jalan Kiara 2, Plaza Mont Kiara, Mont Kiara Kuala Lumpur.

Being a vegan in Malaysia, one does not have much choices to choose from. Here at Mumbai Delights they served a wide varieties of vegetarian food for you to choose from; ranging from authentic Mumbai Street food to fusion vegetarian food like pizza and pasta.

The setup of Mumbai Delights has 2 dining area where one can dine either in a brightly lit dining hall while alfresco diners can opt to have a drink while enjoying the delicious snack fare offering at the side of the restaurant.

We find a little interesting discovery is that at Mumbai Delights; it also serves beer and liquor. This is the first time we come across a vegetarian outlet serving liquor; don't know why or whether this is a common practise in Mumbai.

Our dinner started with the Samosa Set (RM7.00) - It is an Indian potato filling with the samosa skin and deep fried to a crisp. This set comes in 2 pieces.

This is then followed by Vada Pav (RM5.50) which is an Indian Burger (a popular Mumbai street food) with tamarind and green chutney filling.

The next dish is a fusion Thai Curry Dal with Garlic Naan (RM14.00). The curry is cooked with an assortment of vegetables which includes broccoli, bok choy, carrots and so forth.

After that, is the Malai Kofta (RM15.00) which is a Dryfruit Dumpling( a combination of cashew nuts mix with cottage cheese) fried to a golden brown and served with a white cream cashew gravy.

Although you could order the Malai Kofta to be eaten with pav or naan but we were told that the Malai Kofta is best eaten with a new item to be added which is the Green Rice.

The next dish is a special creation of stuffed fresh button mushroom coated with cottage cheese  with tikka malai aptly named as Himachali Kumbh (RM18.00).

For the pizza, we had the Parizza (from the word combination of Paratha Pizza) Layered Pizza (RM24.00). The dough is a layered naan which is cooked in a tandoor and then topped with the mushroom with topping of capsicum, mushroom, mozzarella, cheddar and cottage cheese oven baked with Chef secret recipe.

This is followed by the Bhurji Pav (RM18.00) - shredded cottage cheese are pan fried with condiments and spices and served with pav but we had this with a layered naan.

The last dish was the Chilli Garlic Sizzler (RM24.00) - a complete meal which comprise of vegetable, corn, french fries, cottage cheese cutlet topped with a chilli garlic sauce on a bed of rice. You have the option to order it with pasta instead.

To end our meal, we had a specially concocted Chocolate Samosa (RM18.00) with Vanilla ice-cream, dazzles with hot dark chocolate.

So the next time you yearn for some North Indian vegetarian meal particularly Mumbai street food;make a date with Mumbai Delights Mont Kiara.

Olle Cafe Desa Sri Hartamas - A Korean Inspired Cafe Review by Best Restaurant

Most cafe that are setup in Klang Valley are usually owned by Malaysian, but Olle Cafe is actually a Korean owned cafe. Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to review Olle Cafe which located at 26-G, JALAN 24/70A, DESA SRI HARTAMAS, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; special food and coffee offering.

As with most cafe, the Olle Cafe Sri Hartamas is a simple cafe setup with a minimal setting that focus on a convenient and self service offering.

One of the unique features about Olle Cafe Sri Hartamas is that; it roasts its own coffee beans right in the outlet, This is as fresh as you can get for coffee enthusiast.

With a Korean root, the first dish we had is one of the Korean favourite food which is the Bulgogi Rice, the beef meat are pre marinated and then cooked with a special Korean sauce which has a tinge of sweetness. The side of Fried Kim Chi makes this a truly Korean affair.

This is then followed by a western pasta dish which is theVegetarian Pasta with fresh Italian herbs; it was a combination of eggplant, peas and Italian herbs served with parmigiano cheese and Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO).

The creamy cheese sauce was of the right texture while the egg plants have a firm texture that gives it a crunch feel without being too hard. The Chef was able to bring out the natural flavour and taste of the vegetables.

Next, we had the Signature : Olle Grilled Chicken Sandwich - The centrepiece meat was a grilled chicken breast served with torched mozzarella cheese, fresh lettuce and Olle Chef special tomato spicy sauce with the Ciabatta bread.

I personally like the special spicy mayo sauce that came with the sandwich; while the grilled breast meat was grilled to the right smoky taste which still retain some of the chicken juice.

At Olle Cafe Sri Hartamas, they serves breakfast with a different twist i.e. you can select what are the items you want for your breakfast set for example, you can select the way you want your eggs done. You can choose from either 3, 5 or 7 item from the special menu, depending on how small or big you want your breakfast to be.

This is then followed by another pasta dish which is Spaghetti Meat ball Marinara.

Taste wise the meat ball was flavourful with the marinara sauce but it was a little off mark for me as I find it to be a tad too soft; as I personally preferred a slightly firm texture for my meatball.

To end our meal, we had the Affogato with a single shot of expresso.

At Olle cafe Sri Hartamas, while enjoying your cup of freshly roasted and freshly brewed coffee, you can also enjoy it with some special food offering to complete your meal.
