Mont Kiara Food: If you are a fan of Vietnamese Cuisine and stay around the neighbourhood of Mont Kiara you are in for a treat as there is a new restaurant that features authentic Vietnamese street food at Mont Kiara.
Nguyen's which is located at 1F-15, 163 Retail Park, Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, has just opened its doors recently. The setup is brightly lit and offers diners a quick meal at affordable prices. Helmed by a Vietnamese Chef, the dishes are cooked to the expectation that one can expect from a Vietnamese restaurant.
Nguyen's Retail Park Mont Kiara - Newest Vietnamese Street Food Shop
If you are a fan of Vietnamese coffee, then an order of a hot or cold Vietnamese coffee will not disappoint you. The Nguyen's Speciality Traditional Vietnamese Coffee Hot (RM10.00) is served using Vietnamese drip drop style. The flavours have a nice bitterly chocolatey after taste.
While the Nguyen's Speciality Traditional Vietnamese Coffee Cold version is at RM12.00
Among my favourite Vietnamese dishes is Pho. At Nguyen's, there are a few variations of how the Pho is served. The premium offering is that there are using the Australian beef slices which have a nice texture and taste. The first that we tasted was the Australian Beef Pho Ribeye Slice - RM 26.00
While the Australian Beef Pho Beef Slice RM 21.00. Compared to the Ribeye slice, this meat cut has a firmer texture. Depends on your preference, the broth taste quite similar.
Next, for those that love beef ball, can have its Hand Made Beef Balls Pho (RM21.00) variations.
One of the things I like about Vietnamese street food is the snack dishes. for the snack food. My favourite at Nguyen's is the Fried Chicken Wings (RM12.00 for 3 pcs) as very addictive. We ended up ordering at least 3 plates of it. Deep-fried to a nice dark brown, it has a crispy skin while its meat is still juicy.
Another popular street food is the Nguyen's Viet Rolls RM 12 For 2 pcs. This is probably one of the most famous snack dishes.
For those that preferred the deep-fried version, it is available to as Nguyen's Summer Rolls RM 12 For 3 Pcs.
and not forgetting Banh Mi. We tasted the Beef Banh Mi RM 13.00.
Other noodles dishes that we tasted was the Nguyen's Signature Beef Noodles RM 19.00. This noodle dish is a little different in that it is topped up with a lot of vegetables. More like a salad noodles dish.
Nguyen's Pork Chop Noodles RM 19.00. Most of us love this as the noodles have a very springy and bite texture. The pork chop was fried to a nice succulent texture that brings out the marinade taste.
Here they also serve some Thai dishes among those that we tasted are the Nguyen's Signature Stew Pork Knuckle RM 26.00. The pork knuckle was stewed to a nice soft texture that literally melts in the mouth. The broth was nice and will be great to be eaten with a bowl of rice.
The second Thai dish is the Nguyen's Signature Crabmeat With Curry RM 39.00.
and the last one was the Nguyen's Signature Fried Omelette With Oysters RM 16.00.
Overall, most dishes are quite a close substitute to what you can taste when you dine in Vietnam, of course, this is my personal taste.
This makes me wanna have Vietnamese food tonight!
