PUCHONG FOOD: Probably the last areas that you would think off when you want to fine dine in Puchong. We just found out a nice restaurant serving Asian fusion dishes in Puchong which is MONTT RESTAURANT BAR where you can dine in a romantic ambience with the company of your other half.

Looking at the address and set within the Puchong Utama Industrial Park, you will wonder whether there is a restaurant in this area, are able to serve delicious food and have the romantic ambience. Well, you are in for a surprise just like us.

MONTT RESTAURANT BAR PUCHONG - Chef Low

We are here for a wine pairing session with a new menu offering of Chef Low which will highlight his culinary skills with an offering of a few selected dishes. 

MONTT RESTAURANT BAR PUCHONG Menu  - Chilled Capellini

The first dish is a Japanese Western fusion dish which is Chilled Capellini (aka Angel Hair) and paired with Echigozakura Nihonshu Sake. The Angel Hair is cooked with a kombu Soyu sauce to gives it a savoury taste. It is then chilled up and served with Ikura that adds a colourful treat and taste to the pasta.

Continuing the flavour from the sea, the second dish is the Grilled Tiger Prawns and for this dish, it is paired with a white wine Misha Lyric - Riesling. The tiger prawns are grilled using charcoal which induces the smoky flavour to the fresh bouncy texture of the prawn. It is then sprinkled with a buttery Nestum flavoured sauce with toasted cashew nut to add a crunchy texture to the dish.

We were then served with 2 mains dishes which the first is Roasted Half Young Chicken which is paired with Dogajolo Toscano Rosso IGT. We like this chicken dish as the meat was indeed tender and juicy. As the Chef explains, the selection of a young chicken is to ensure that the meat has a nice tender texture and coupled with the sous vide treatment, each piece of chicken meat was flavourful and tasted perfect.

The second main dish is the Char-grilled Dukkah Spice Lamb Rib which is paired with Corona De Aragon Reserva Especial. For this dish, the Lamb's rib is cured and sous vide to ensure the tenderness to the rib meats. The Lambs Rib is also marinated with the Dukkah Spice to give it a unique taste while also cleverly musking out the gamey taste. It is then Charcoal grilled to the right char and is served with Yoghurt and Pita bread. The wine is specially bottled for MONTT Restaurant Bar and there are only 250 bottles available.

To end of our meal, we were served with 2 desserts the first of which is Strawberry Lychee Mousse. It is a specially crafted dessert which comprises of strawberry jelly, crepes skin with layered strawberry & lychee mousse.

The last dessert is the Peanut Butter Mascarpone - which is made out of Chocolate Coffe Cake, Peanut Butter, Mascarpone Cheese and Milk Chocolate.
