From 1st December 2019 to 31st December 2019, you can treat your staff, colleagues, friends and families with 3 Sau Gong Menu specially prepared by Chef James. The first set is the Auspicious Sau Gong Menu at RM1,388 Nett per table of 10 persons. While the Longevity Sau Gong Menu is at RM1,688 Nett Per table of 10 persons and the last set is Abundance Sau Gong Menu @ RM2,288 Nett Per table of 10 persons.

CHINESE NEW YEAR 2020 & SAU GONG SET MENU @ SUMMER PALACE PUTRAJAYA MARRIOTT HOTEL
We had the opportunity to taste out the speciality dishes from the Longevity Sau Gong menu. As usual, what better way to close off the prosperous year with the tossing of the Prosperity Salmon Yee Sang.
For the soup, the Chef has prepared the Double Boiled Chicken Soup With Abalone & Boletus Fungus. For Chinese dinner, I am always eagerly awaiting to taste the soup as this is the dish that will set the tone for the dinner. For this soup, with each spoonful of it, we had a hearty feeling of pleasure and gratitude knowing the total efforts that were required to be put in by the Chef to married the finest ingredient to prepare this superb tasting dish.
Next, we were served the Roasted Farm Chicken Marinated With Ginger, Five Spice. What impressed us for this dish, is how the Chef is able to pack so much sesame seed into the layer of chicken skin. The best part was the roasting was done perfectly to encapsulate the chicken natural juice inside while retaining a crispy skin on the outside.
This is then followed by the Steamed Grouper With Ginger, Ear Fungus And Superior Soy Sauce. The fish dish can look so simple and yet if cook correctly will infuse the right flavour that will delight your taste-bud. The choice of using fresh Grouper is right as it has a nice texture if steamed to the right temperature giving its skin a silky texture while retaining its flaky fish meat. It is an art to be able to get this right.
To celebrate a happy occasion like Sau Gong, the prawn dish which signifies Happiness is a must. For this, we were served the Wok Fried Tiger Prawn With Butter Cream and Salted Eggs. Any dishes with salted eggs are usually addictive and this dish is no exception to that. The Tiger prawn which is fried has a firm texture (signify its freshness) and was very well coated with the buttercream salted eggs sauce.
I have a sort of cult liking to sea cucumber as I love the bouncy gelatinous texture together with the blended braised sauce of this dish. The Chef has done quite nicely in his rendition of the Braised Sea Cucumber & Fish Maw With Broccoli. The soft fish maw texture that was cooked with the dish was done just right making a multitude of bite feel to all the 3 ingredients from soft to hard.
As with any Chinese dinner set menu, the last dish is either a noodle or rice dish, here we have the Stir-Fried Noodle With Assorted Mix Vegetable. This noodle dish (which stands for longevity) is packed with a generous serving of seafood like fish fillet and prawns.
For dessert, we had the Chilled Sea Coconut, Snow Fungus, Longan Dessert
which is paired with a fancy dessert combination of Sesame Seed Dumplings - Chin Tui
and Osmanthus Jelly With Shredded Coconut.
For this promotion, every order of the Sau Gong Set menu comes with a complimentary bottle of House Wine.
For the coming Chinese New Year, Summer Palace has also a few Chinese New Year Set menu to usher the Year of The Metal Rat 2020. From 1st January 2020 to 10th February 2020, you can enjoy this Prosperity Set Menu which is Prosperity Set Menu A at RM1,288 Nett per table of 10 persons, while the Prosperity Set Menu B at RM1,688 Nett per table of 10 persons and finally the Prosperity Set Menu C at RM2,188 Nett per table of 10 persons. For an order of Menu B & C, it will come with a complimentary bottle of House Wine or Sparkling Wine.
