My Burger Lab Sunway - Burger With A Passion - Bandar Sunway Petaling Jaya Food

What has Ultraman, Animal and Yellow Submarine have in common? These are  names of burgers that are served at My Burger Lab. Recently BestRestaurantToEat went for a burger feast at My Burger Lab Sunway Cafe which is located at 3, Jalan PJS 11/9, Bandar Sunway, 46150 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

My Burger Lab has been dishing out their specialty burgers for more than 3 years; each burger that comes out of the lab has unique characteristics that will tantalize your taste-bud i.e. from spicy, sweet, savory and all that special flavors and taste.

Now, at My Burger Lab, it is not only about burgers as they have also developed special appetizers to start your meal with and desserts to end your meal too. So, you can really have a complete full course.

We had the opportunity to taste the first starters which were the special Sloppy Fries 2.0 (RM13.50). The Fried fries with skin on are fried to a crisp and laden with Sloppy Chicken which has a slightly spicy paprika flavor and topped with a runny sunny side up eggs.  A simple fries with a character.

For the greens, customers can choose the Magikarp Salad (RM13.50); comes with fresh garden salad which has Smoke Salmon with crunchy charcoal croutons and topped with a tomago like boiled eggs with a Honey Italian dressing. The salad also has sprinkles of pumpkins seeds to give a different bite texture to the salad.

For Burgers, we started with the Ultraman 3.0 Burgers (RM18.80). Why it is called the Ultraman Burgers; in Cantonese Ultraman is called the "Ham Tang Chew Yan" - which literally means Salted Egg Yolk Super Man; no wonder this burger is coated with a generous luster of salted eggs sauce on a piece of fried crispy chicken thigh which is marinated with kaffir lime leaves and lemon grass and served with lettuce. A must for fans of salted eggs yolk.

This is then followed by the A+ Burger (RM16.00); which is a piece of sous vide thick chicken breast (this cooking method ensures the meat juices are intact) and is then grilled and slapped with cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, shitake and enoki mushrooms.

The third burger that we had is the Swiss Take Burger (RM16.00), we like the natural taste of the sauteed shitake and enoki mushroom which is flavored with oyster sauce and blended with the cheesy taste of the Swiss cheese. For those that still loves a meatless burger; this will be a great choice.

Our second last burgers were the Kick In The Face 2.0 (RM18.90). We really like this burger as the taste of the Jalapenos and red onions gave a slightly spicy taste to the thick beef patties which were sandwiched with Horseradish Mayo and Green Pepper Relish to give a hint of slight vinaigrette taste to the overall burger.

The last burger for the night is the Animal Burger (RM13.90)  Not in the standard menu but can be ordered if there are any. This burger has a mustard-grilled patty with slices of onion and topped with a special in-house secret recipe sauce.

You can either paired your burgers with a Root Beer (RM9.50). This Root Beer is the Original Stewards Root Beer that comes with a glass bottle.

or choose the good old American style where you paired it with a Milk Shake. For us, we tried the Peanut Butter Milk Shake (RM13.90) and the Oreo Milkshake but my vote is on the Peanut Milkshake.

Lastly for desserts, we had the Lava Brownie (RM15.90). The chocolate brownie is served in a warm pan and topped with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream. The chocolate brownies are baked with almond nuts and served with a sizzling sauce.

Bandar Sunway Food : Lancelot Tea Guild Nadayu 28 - Enchanting English Tea Appreciation

Most Klang Valley cafes serves specialty coffee with their latte arts as one of the main draws to these cafes, but not many serves top quality English Teas. +BestRestaurant ToEat  was invited to a special review at Lancelot Tea Guild located at 5A, Nadayu 28 Dagang, Jalan PJS 11/7, Bandar Sunway
Subang Jaya to appreciate the new art of drinking English Tea which not all guarantees that the tea leaves are of the finest quality but also the special brewing mechanism to ensure the consistent flavour of your tea.

The Lancelot Tea-Guild introduces a refreshing concept of affordable luxury right in the heart of Bandar Sunway. As we step into Lancelot we were transported to a picturesque setting of Victorian era decor, where lavish chandeliers hang from the ceilings against a backdrop of plush velvet curtains and hand painted art pieces.

All the interior decor and furniture reflects well to entice your senses to the fine pleasure to taste one of the finest tea from Whittard Chelsea England.

Before we move to the Tea Appreciation, Lancelot Tea Guild also serves an array of English Western dishes; which some of it are crafted with the right infusion of tea flavours into it.

Our review started with 2 salad which the first is the Smoked Duck Salad. A very simple, tangy and nicely decorated salad with thin slices of smoked duck and crunchy cut melon taste that complement to the savouriness of the cured meat with a balsamic dressing.

Our second salad is the Prawn And Mango Salad - A simple plating of 4 poached prawns and sweet slice mango with a home made dressing on a layer of fresh garden greens sprinkled with fresh flowers. You can taste the natural taste of the prawn as you intertwined with the mango, salad and the dressing.

As for the entree, we tasted 2 dishes, the first of which is the Honey Glazed Lamb Rack - The lamb rack were marinated with tea leaves and grilled to the right char. The meat does not have any gamy taste probably due to the marination with the tea leaves. This dish is served with a slightly sourish mint sauce and came with specially cut out button shapes vegetables of brinjal, carrot and tsukini.

Our second entree was the Pan Fried Chicken With Rosemary Gravy - the chicken thigh are rolled up and pan fried to perfection and served with the rosemary gravy. The meat texture was tender and succulent; and was well paired with the gravy.

Lancelot Tea Guild offers a wide variety of tea from Whittard Chelsea. You can choose either the Fruit and Herbal Infusion Tea, Green Tea and the popular Black Tea series i.e. the Earl Grey, English Breakfast and more.

At Lancelot the tea recipe are set in a special brewing machine; that needs the exact weight of tea leaves;

and the system will take care of the special brewing techniques to infused the tea flavours with the right water temperature to extract the optimum flavour.

My tea selection was picked by the tea sommelier; as I prefer a milder version of tea after our heavy dinner which is the the Piccadilly Blend; a classic black tea with fragrant flavours of rose, strawberry and lotus, luxuriantly layered with colourful cornflowers petal. With the sweet, fruity and floral taste; it went well with the pairing of the scones and the cakes that we had for desserts.

To accompany our tea; we had the special Lancelot Tea Guild in-house made scones which is the Classic Scones which is served with Cherry Blossom Tea Ice Cream Spread.

and the Apple & Pomegranate Scones which were sandwiched with Apple Elderflower Tea Ice Cream Spread.

For desserts; we had a tea infused cake; which is the English Earl Grey cake; it has a rich tea flavour and mask with a chocolaty taste with a right sweetness level. We love this combination that went well with our choice of tea which is the Piccadilly Blend.

It was a very tea-riffic and captivating experience to enjoy these special brew tea coupled with the fine ambiance and decor of the Lancelot Tea Guild. For English Hi Tea fans; They do offered a special set which you can try out too. Do check it out.

Thai Syok Thai Restaurant Yakitori Sunway Mentari - A simple restaurant that serves real authentic Thai Food

If you are on a budget and loves to taste Authentic Thai Cuisine, then this review will be of great interest to you. Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to try out the newly open Thai Syok Thai Food Restaurant located at 15, Jalan PJS 8/18, Dataran Mentari, Sunway Mentari, Bandar Sunway, Selangor.

The decor and setup at Thai Syok Thai Restaurant Yakitori is a no frill, simple setup; on entry to the restaurant you will be greeted and welcomed by 2 special Thai figurine.

The chef in Thai Syok are all Thai's, so our expectation are sky high on the quality and taste of the food served from the restaurant.

Our review started with the Papaya Salad (RM10.50). This salad has a spicy and sourish taste. With the combination of toasted peanuts, shredded raw papaya, it was a nice appetizer to kick off our food review.

This is then followed by the Seafood Tom Yum Kung (Medium) RM24.30. It is loaded with a combination of seafood like prawns, squids, mussel, mushroom and more. But, what is more important was the potent concoction of this Tom Yum; which has a distinctive strong taste; of which you could easily get choked. The chef uses a special in-house made Tom Yum paste with the right amount of bunga kantan and lemongrass. The soup was very addictive as we can't stop slurping it spoonful after spoonful.

For the mains, we had another Chef specialty dish which is the Fried Tom Yum Fish. At Thai Syok, you can choose the type of fish that you like i,e Grouper, Tilapia or Barramundi; for us it was the Red Tilapia (prices for the fish is based on type of fish and weight). Fried to a bright yellow crunchy crisp and then topped with the appetizing special Tom Yum sauce laden with generous amount of cut Bunga Kantan; the entire dish was very aromatic and fragrantful. This is another dish that goes pretty well with the white rice. We finish this dish right to the last drop of sauce.

At this Thai Syok outlet, the owner is introducing some special skewers or Thai yakitori to its menu.  We had the Yakitori Combo (RM24.00) and only available for dinner. The main difference between the Thai and the Japanese Yakitori will be the Japanese usually does not premarinate its meat before being grilled, while its Thai counterpart will be marinated in special sauces. This makes the flavours of the marinate penetrate to the meat. In our combo set we had a skewer of pork neck, pork belly, pandan leaf chicken, basil minced meat with lemongrass, king prawns on tom yum paste and chicken wings.

The next dish is the Deep Fried Pork Knuckle (RM58.20). According to the owner, the pork knuckle are first pre cooked in a special broth, both to soften the texture and immerse it with the fragrant aroma of the broth. Before serving, it is then fried to a crisp; so that you can really taste the crackling skin while enjoying the juicy sweet flavour of the meat. Another dish that gets our thumbs up.

After that we had the soon to be released BBQ Lamb Chop. The pre marinated lamb chop are then grilled to the right charred while the meat still retains its juiciness and succulence.

For vegetables, we had the Wok Fried Asparagus with Shrimps (RM24.30). We love the crunchy texture of the young asparagus and was a nice vegetable to accompany our other dishes.

For desserts, we can't leave without trying out my favourite Thai Mango With Sweet Glutinous Rice. This dessert must be eaten fairly quickly as the glutinous rice tends to dry up quite fast; thereby having a hard texture toward the end. It was nicely decorated with the mango surrounding the Glutinous rice and the coconut sauce.

and the second dessert was the Ice Blended Red Rubies With Jack Fruit and Coconut Syrup to close off our dinner. The difference with the ice blended compare with the crush ice version, is that it is much finer, blended well with the coconut syrup and smoother to drink. We like this too.

As most people will know that Dataran Sunway Mentari is famous for steamboat, but you will never expect such good quality and reasonably price Thai Food from this area and certainly Thai Syok Thai Restaurant Yakitori  have proven their capability to dish out such a cuisine.

Followed by the Salad - Soft Shell Salad with Mango

and the crispy Fried Salmon skin

Then the sashimi offering with the Moriawase to start off with.

followed by Salmon Belly

and the lovely Rainbow Carpaccio - An assorted sashimi with Japanese Style sauce

This is then followed by the sushi offering, the first of which is the Soft Shell Crab Maki

Salmon Mayo Sushi

Unagi Roll

next, we had some side dishes like the Ebi Tempura

Koebi  Karrage - we really loved this as it was fried until a nice crisp. Perfectly goes with the sake.

Chilli Clam

Kakuni - Stewed Pork Chop With Chef Secret recipe

and the Sanma Shioyaki

and the last one is the Ika Butter Yaki.

Sozo Japanese Restaurant is having a special Lunch buffet which costs only RM48++ and dinner at RM55++. Although there was a 2 hour time limit; we couldn't even stomach any more food after that.
