MINAMOTONOYA CAFÉ Sri Petaling Glass City Café Western Fusion Food Review By Best Restaurant

There is a little new cafe in Sri Petaling that was opened recently. Best Restaurant To Eat was invited for a food review which is MINAMOTONOYA CAFÉ located at C3, Jalan Radin Anum 1, Glass City, Bandar Sri Petaling Kuala Lumpur (new address No. 37-1 Jalan Radin Anum Satu Bandar Baru Sri Petaling 57000 Kuala Lumpur).

MINAMOTONOYA CAFÉ has a Japanese inspired theme that serves Western Japanese fusion food. The décor is one which is loaded with cute cartoon character.

It has a minimalist and simple decor setting which makes it a little cozy hang-out place to chill out with friends. Moreover its' pricing of the food are affordable especially its’ set lunches.

The food review started out with the BACON EGG SANDWICHES. The in-house made bacon was perfectly paired to the deep fried egg and the in-house made ciabatta bread.

With a generous spread of mayonnaise and topped with fresh green lettuce, it not only looks nice but tasted equally delicious.

The next dish was the WAFU SHIMEJI MUSHROOM AGLIO OLIO, it is a lightly onion flavoured aglio olio with a generous sprinkle of bonito flakes which was still curling when served to us.

The shimeji mushroom emits a special fragrant which blended well with the sauce and the flakes together with the crunch of the fresh cherry tomatoes.

Next, we had the SPAGHETTI TERIYAKI, the chicken thigh were marinated and fried with the teriyaki sauce.

The taste was very balance with the delicious tasting chicken meat and the mushroom enhanced sauce.

The final main dish we tried was the SPAGHETTI SERVED WITH FRIED CHEESE PORK CHOP.

The pork chop were thinly sliced, roll up and batter up with bread crumb. Fried to a golden crisp and spread with a layer of cheese. Simply delicious and goes well with the spaghetti.

Next, is the dessert which we had two, the first of which is the TOFU CHEESE CAKE, a no bake cheese cake blended with white tofu and served on top of a layer of bread crumb.

This dessert goes well with a cup of the Mocha Latte.

Our final dessert was the MIZU SHINGEN MOCHI, a super cute transparent grass jelly mochi that was served with soya bean paste and a topping of brown sugar syrup.

So, the next time you are around the Sri Petaling area, head over to MINAMOTONOYA CAFÉ to try out the fusion western food with a twist of Japanese flavours.

GRAB CAFÉ Damansara Jaya Petaling Jaya Selangor – Gourmet Burger Review

Are you one of those people that love Gourmet Burgers? If you are, then GRAB CAFÉ may be the place for you to go. Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to a new menu review at GRAB CAFÉ located at No.7, Jalan SS 22/11, Damansara Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

GRAB CAFÉ @Damansara Jaya – which its acronym stands for Gourmet Ribs and Burgers underwent a renovation and a new menu offering recently. It is a simple vintage setup that exudes a family dining ambience.

It is a family run cafe that prides itself of making its own soft charcoal bun and in-house meat patties for its burgers.

We started the food review with the BULL GOING NUTS which has Beef patties, beef bacon, cheese, caramelized onion, blueberry jelly and peanut butter, butterhead lettuce and fresh tomatoes in its filling.

The in-house made beef patties were meaty with the right balance of fats. It does not have any gamey smell of the beef which makes eating it a tasty affair. The combination of the cheese and bacon was very balance and gives an overall feel and wholesome taste to the burger.

Next, we had the TOKYO DRIFT CHICKEN which has a piece of Chicken patty, grilled pineapple, cheese, caramelized onion, teriyaki sauce, butterhead lettuce and fresh tomatoes.

The teriyaki sauce was sweet and savoury while the Chicken patty was very thick, succulent and was grilled enough to be flavourful without tasting the carbon.

For Vegan, you can opt for the next burger which is HASHTAG VEGAN which consists of a patty of Fried Portobello mushroom, hash brown, cheese, homemade Grab sauce, butterhead lettuce and fresh tomatoes.

It was a very creative way to present a delicious Vegan burger with the mushroom patties which was fried to a golden yellow crisp that gives each bite a mouthful feel.

This is then followed by the LAMB BIZKIT which has a Lamb patty, hash brown, cheese, gherkin, minted mayo, butterhead lettuce and fresh tomatoes.

The Lamb Patty was very juicy while the accompanying minted mayo was creamy and minty, bringing out the best from the lamb while the hash brown gives a crunch to the burger.

Next, was GRAB CAFÉ signature burger which is the SPICE-UP BURGER which has Beef rib, grilled pineapple, caramelized onion, Indonesian sambal, butterhead lettuce and fresh tomatoes.

This burger adds a new dimension with an added spice from the Indonesian sambal. The Beef Rib meats were soft and tender while eating it was easy with minimum effort.

If burgers are not your cup of tea for a meal, you can opt for the other dish which includes the Beef Stroganoff Rice which is Fillet Mignon that was quick seared and cooked in heavy cream with mixture of gherkin, bell peppers, button mushroom and onion served with rice.

Another non-burger option will be the Fricassee which has two fried eggs, braised short ribs, sautéed potatoes, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, tomato relish served with a toast. You can have a choice of white or whole meal bread to go with this meal.

To end our review, we had the Aviator Salad i.e. Crip mesclun salad, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, poached egg coated in corn flakes and seaweed with vinaigrette dressing.

For fish lovers you can opt for the topping to be smoked salmon while for meat lovers you can opt for the smoked chicken breast.

The next time you yearned for a Gourmet Burger, you can just head over to GRAB CAFÉ your neighbourhood café in Damansara Jaya to satisfy your cravings.

Onde Onde Citta Mall Ara Damansara - Flavours Of Malaysian Street Food Review

There are not many restaurants or café that serves a wide array of Malaysian all-time popular street food in one restaurant. Best Restaurant To Eat was invited for a food review session at Onde Onde Citta Mall Ara Damansara located at G-49, Ground Floor, CITTA MALL, No.1 Jalan PJU 1A/48 Jalan PJU 1, Ara Damansara 47301 Petaling Jaya Selangor Malaysia.

Onde Onde Citta Mall has a modern and casual setup where you can lepak around with your friends and family over a cup of tea tarik or kopi santan and enjoy some kuih muih or have a traditional Malaysian breakfast of Nasi Lemak and end supper with some fried Kuey Teow with Duck Egg.

We started the review with some favourite appetizer, namely the first of which is the Pandan Chicken. This pandan chicken is very different from the one that we eat at the Thai Restaurant which had chicken pieces. The chicken meat here are minced with a recipe of spices and then wrapped with the Pandan leave and fry to a slight crisp. It is best eaten with some chilli sauce.

followed by the Penang favourite Chicken Lobak Platter – The chef used the chicken as the filling for the lobak, it taste great eaten on its own, in the platter there were also the fried taufoo and century eggs as another must have for a local favourites.

and the last appetizer was the Johor favourite which is Otak-Otak. The otak-otak serves here are a triangle in shape as compared to those that are thinly spread in the traditional daun nipah. Eating this otak-otak gives you a sense of a much meaty piece as you are able to taste the combination of the spices with the fish meat.

We then move to the noodles session, where we ordered 2 noodles the first of which is the Duck Egg Char Kuey Teow. I was a little surprised when it was served as I find that the Fried Kuey Teow was very evenly fried and the aroma of the duck eggs was very fragrant.

The only setback for this dish was there are no cockles in it although there was a generous amount of chicken meat and bean sprouts and some prawns to top it up with.

Next , we ordered the Signature Assam Laksa. I am a strong fan of Assam Laksa and I find this broth a little subtle to my taste as I am fond of the type where the broth is very strong and flavourful of the ikan kembung.

After that we moved on to the Rice dishes, where we had the Belacan Fried Rice. I find this dish to be quite nice as the balance use of the ingredient and belacan was just right i.e. not too overwhelming that kills or overpowered the taste.

The next rice dish is the Nasi Lemak Istimewa Supreme which comes with the signature Ayam Berempah, Sambal Prawns and Otak-Otak and keropok. I find the rice to be aromatic and was cooked to be very grainy with just the right touch of santan.

While the Ayam Berempah was fried to a gentle crisp on the skin and the meat was still succulent and tender on the inside. The mildly spicy fresh prawn sambal was a perfect match to the Nasi lemak without being too overpowering.

Lastly, for desserts, we had the first one which is the Cendol. The cendol was silky smooth and blended well with the concoction of the gula Melaka and the Red Beans. It is an ideal dessert to end our hearty meal.

This was then followed by the Signature Durian Dessert. This is a real surprised to me as the durian that was used as the topping was very aromatic and flavourful. Even before taking the first spoonful, we could smelt the strong durian aroma from the bowl. Eating together with the ice shaving it was just a perfect dessert for me who loves anything durian.

The last dish for the night was the Golden Banana Fritters with Ice Cream. Here the banana was cut in half and the batter does not have that much of the crisp which would make it ideal to eat with the ice cream.

As for drink, we had the Pandan Cooler – it was a very refreshing and soothing drink that goes exceptionally well with the spicy food that we had.

Lastly, we had the Kopi Santan, which instead of using milk, they use santan to flavour the roasted coffee. For me, which loves thick and strong coffee, this version is just a tad too mild to my liking although I find the santan to be a good mix and something different for a change.

At Onde Onde Citta Mall Ara Damansara, you will be able to get to taste all the different flavours of Malaysian Street food in one place without the hassle of going to too many different shop or states to taste it.
