Petaling Jaya Food | Brulee Brasserie Cafe - Creme Brulee - Coffee - Beer - Pizza

There are not many cafe and restaurant that serves delicious yet affordable Creme Brulee.
+BestRestaurant ToEat recently got the opportunity to try out the Creme Brulee and its other dishes at Brulee Brasserie Cafe located at B1-2 Casa Tropicana, Jalan Persiaran Tropicana, Tropicana Golf and Country Resort, 47410 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Brulee Brasserie Cafe is a neighborhood cafe with its' cozy, carefree and simplistic decor which are adorned with charming little set pieces around the cafe.

Patrons placed their orders from the counter;

while the menu is very straight forward which has 2 boards: one which is the drinks menu and the others the pizza menu; which has 12 different flavours served with a specially sourced Lebanese bread as the base.

Our review started with a lighter flavour of the pizza which is the Super Mario Pizza (RM14.00). The thin crust is topped with olives and 3 types of mushrooms; which were the Shiitake Mushroom, Porto Bello Mushroom and the Eryngnii (King) Mushroom. When the pizza arrives at our tables, we could smelt the strong aroma of these mushroom. Topped with the mozzarella cheese, the pizza was superb with the oven baked crisp thin crust.

Our next pizza is the Pesto Caviar Pizza (RM15.00). Frankly speaking, we have not eaten a caviar pizza at all before this review; but this turn out to be quite a taste by itself. Combined with the pesto sauce and the cheese; it was a real delight to taste the orange and black caviar on a pizza.

Our third pizza is special marriage of Petai Sambal flavour and the Nasi Lemak flavour (RM14.00). We were told that the Nasi Lemak was the cafe top seller; but as an ardent fan of nasi lemak, we felt that an additional spoonful of spicy sambal sauce with fried crispy anchovies would have made this pizza a better match to our demanding taste-bud for a Nasi Lemak flavoured dish.

The last and final pizza for the night is the Moroccan Beef (RM11.00). For me as a meat eater; this Pizza has to be the best for me. We really like the taste of the beef which takes a long process to prepare and serve. According to the Chef, it takes almost 2 days to prepare and cooked it with an array of spices and the special Moroccan sauce. It has a slightly spicy taste and the meat was not gamy. Perfectly matched with the crust too.

After our pizza, it is time for the Star of the Cafe; which is the Creme Brulee; If you are coming here for the first time; you might not know that the cafe serves Creme Brulee as it is not written on the menu or anywhere in the cafe. For die-hard Creme Brulee fans to this cafe; they will know that it is the only desserts serves here. But; what is so special about the Creme Brulee at Brulee Brasserie Cafe is that there are 12 rotating flavours i,e. the original Vanilla, Mango, Lemon, Green Tea, Thai Red Tea, Lavendar, Coffee, Cinnamon, Passion Fruit, Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Cardamon. Each and everyday the Creme Brulee are made fresh and 3 flavours will be served. Do check out the flavours of the day when you order yours.

We find the texture to be very soft and the sweetness level was just the right portion. For me; we like the caramel to be of the thin type which you can tell the staff when you place the order with them. Secondly we can taste the milky creamy based of the Brulee in every spoonful; which was a real delight and at RM7.00 per cup; you can really indulge in this dessert at this cafe.

At Brulee Brasserie Cafe; it does offer specialty latte and imported crafted beers specially for those beer connoisseur to enjoy a drink or two with their friends after work or on weekends. Do share your comments after your visit to the cafe.

Pizzolo @ Atria Shopping Gallery Damansara Jaya - Modern Italian Cuisine Review

Atria Shopping Gallery has recently open its doors after a major facelift of the entire shopping centre. +BestRestaurant ToEat was invited to review a Modern Italian Cuisine at Pizzolo @Atria Shopping Centre located at C36, Concourse Floor Atria Shopping Gallery, Jalan SS22/23, Damansara Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The decor at Pizzolo is one of a casual photo studio setting with vibrant colour decor to provide the ambiance for your dining pleasure.

We had 2 salad to start off our review; the first of it; is the Chilled Tomato, Watermelon and Feta (RM17.90). A refreshing start to our review as the watermelon which was cut to a mini log have the sweetness flavour mix with the Feta cheese.

Next, we had the Seared Scallop with Avocado (RM25.90). We love the texture of the large scallop. The Pan Seared Scallop which was sauteed with some light salt was flavourful and goes nicely with the Avocado sauce.

This was then followed by the Traditional Italian Clam Chowder (RM16.90). The soup was cooked with fresh clam and was very tasteful especially when eaten with the accompanied buttered toast.

The next soup was the Wild Mushroom Cappuccino (RM14.90); we were expecting that coffee would be used to cook this soup; but it was not meant to be. The Cappuccino is the foam that was topped up on the soup.

After that, we had the Wood Fired Pizza which the first is Roast Lamb Shoulder Pizza (RM35.90). The pizza crust is the thin crust and with it the crunchy feel when one bite into it. We had not really eaten any lamb pizza more so a lamb shoulder. We find the combination taste to be quite tasty.

Next, we had the South Texas Barbeque Chicken (RM28.90); We find the sauce a little sourish to our taste. It also has a very strong smoky taste and for those that loves BBQ sauce; would love this pizza.

Followed by the Sea Clams Linguini (RM28.90). Just love the simple aglio olio style of this pasta.

After that we had some small bites which the first is the Trio of Bruschetta (RM13.90). As the name suggest, there are 3 pieces of bruschetta; the first is topped with chopped tomato while the second is the mushroom and the 3rd piece is topped with chopped smoke salmon.

This is then followed by the Trout Ceviche On Kataifi (RM19.90). The Kataifi is a pastry like angel hair pasta and often referred as shredded wheat. It has a very distinctive taste (slight fishy taste) which you either love it or hate it.

To end the session, we had the Italian Crepe (RM15.90) with an addon Artisanal Ice Cream (RM6.90). We find the sauce which is lemon based; was on a sour note and gives a different taste to this crepe.

Pizzolo @ Atria Shopping Gallery will be a nice place to chill out or dine when you finish your shopping before heading home.

Raku Pizza Cafe @ Subang Jaya - Build Your Own Japanese Pizza Review

The sheer mention about Pizza, Italians are the ones that will stand out. After numerous review of cafes which offers Italian Pizzas; +BestRestaurant ToEat  was invited to a review a Japanese Pizza for a change at Raku Pizza Cafe located at 80 Jalan SS15/4D, Subang Jaya, Selangor.

The setup is one of a brightly lit and simple decor that offers diners a quick meal of pizza made with the special in-house concocted Japanese style sauce.

Raku Pizza @Subang Jaya main difference is that it offers a special Build Your Own Japanese Pizza; First you choose your type crust that you like; Here; they offers 3 type (Plain, Herbs and Charcoal) of it. Then you choose the sauce that you like (Wasabi, Miso, Katsu and Teriyaki). Finally, the toppings of your choice which includes the Soft Shell Crab, Beef Pepperoni, Mentai, Soft Boiled Potatoes, Sausages and with more than 20 others type of add on; you will be spoilt of choices.

For those less adventurous and hassle, you can opt for the ala carte Japanese style Pizza and their Specialty Pizza. The first one that we tasted was the Tokyo Delight; which has boiled thinly cut potatoes, Sweet Corns, Mentai Mayo, Shredded Seaweed on a bed of Japanese Curry sauce.

The taste was very light and perfect appetizer to our review.

followed by the Sakurajima Lava - which has Teriyaki sauce on a plain crust, Cheese, Grill Chicken, Sweet Onions, Onsen Tamago and Shredded Seaweed.

We were surprised by the taste of this combination with the teriyaki sauce as it was well paired with the right flavour. The crust was a plain thin type and was very crisp.

Next is the savoury pizza which was the EDO Samurai - This pizza has the Karaage chicken as the base meat together with Sweet Onions, Okonomi sauce, Japanese Mayo, Bonito Flakes and Shredded Seaweed on a Miso Sauce base.

After that, we had our very own; Build Your Own Pizza which we choose the Charcoal crust with Wasabi Sauce and the toppings was Soft Shell Crab, with mushroom (Oyster), Bonito flakes and seaweed.

We find the Charcoal crust a little too thick and the owner is looking to get a thinner crust for the charcoal type.

For rice lovers; Raku Pizza Cafe also serves more than 10 ala carte Don meal; we tasted 2 of the Don meals which the first is the Tama-Toji Chicken Katsu Don; consist of Crispy Fried Chicken Fillet with a layer of cooked egg and served with a specialty sauce.

followed by the Teriyaki Chicken Rice - The teriyaki sauce was just nicely paired with the grill chicken thigh with teriyaki sauce which is then topped with sesame seed.

For UDON fan, you can also opt from their offering of 10 Udon meals which the one we had was the Wafu Yuzu Wakame Udon. It is served with a traditional dashi broth with sourish citrus sauce topped with fresh seaweed.

To end our dinner, we had the Pika-Pika Dessert Pizza which is a sweet savoury dessert pizza which has cut pineapples with sweet corns. This is the first time we are having a pizza with sweet corns; apparently Japanese like their pizzas with sweet corns.

For Pizza lovers, now you really have another choice for your Pizza treat, try out Raku Pizza Cafe and have your tastebud journey into a new dimension.

The setup is one that can provide you with a relaxing, romantic and soothing evening settings with nice food to savour in while you enjoy the company of your loved one.

Our review started with the Giant Head Prawn Salad (RM43). The prawns are poached and the meat are extracted out from the shell. The freshness of the prawn meat was bouncy and succulent and perfectly mixed with the watermelon, green & red apples, mandarin and raisin. Served cold, it was the perfect start to the warm evening.

This was then followed by the Amori Di Mare Soup (RM20) i.e the Love of the sea which has the mussels, lala, squid and prawns as the main ingredients was a good choice for the soup. You can taste all the seafood flavours in a slightly spicy soup base. The toasted garlic bread was a good complement to this soup.

The next dish is the Tortellini Beef  (RM21) which is a beef dumpling with a tomato based sauce served with fresh garden salad.

Our next segment is the Wood Fired Pizza; the first of which is Meat Lovers Pizza (RM35). The Pizza dough was wafer thin and crisp, with a generous portions of bacon, salami and sausages; topped with cheesy cheese.

the second pizza is the Hawaiian Pizza with has sprinkles of marinated cut chicken meat, mushroom and pineapples.

The was then followed by the super fresh water prawn dish which is named as Gangnam Prawn (RM20 per 100g). This fresh water king size prawn was caramelized and deep fried to the right crisp and crunch while retaining the juicy and bouncy prawn meat. This Gangnam is not really a Korean name but a place in China i.e."Kong Lum".

and followed by the BGT Petite Di Pollok (RM25) which is a wrapped chicken breast meat that has a cream based sauce with vegetables served with pan fried potatoes wedges and vegetables.

The meat of the evening was the tender and succulent Grilled Lamb Shoulder (RM41) that comes with mint sauce for us to savour it with.

BGT Lakeview Restaurant & Bar made their very own pasta, the first one that we tasted which is part of the Rainbow Pasta series is the Spinach Fettuccine with Bolognese. They also offer an All you can eat Pasta for lunch at RM18.80; Do check it out if you are a fan of pasta.

followed by the Black Sesame Fettuccine

and the Tomatoes Fettuccine with Carbonara sauce.

After the fettucine we move on to taste the garlic filled Spaghetti Seafood Aglio Oglio (RM29). The seafood used for this pasta was the prawns, mussels, clams and the bouncy white squid.

and the in-house specialty Kong Po Lou Shi Fun (RM21) i.e. 'Mouse Noodles".

Lastly was the Paella Italians (RM29) - A Rice dish topped with Prawns, Mussels, Clams and Squids.

We had 2 dessert for the night; the first of which is the Fruity Crepe Lava (RM21)

and followed by our much anticipated BGT Wood Fired Durian Pizza (RM25). The picture above show that the pizza that is on its' way into the wood fire oven drizzle with mozzarella cheese.

and the final product which has a combination of the strong aroma of the durian and the melted cheese. It was so good, we needed a 2nd and 3rd helping for this delicious dessert.

BGT Lakeview Restaurant & Bar also offers a wide varieties of hard liquor and beer for those that enjoy a drink or two after meal.

If you plan for a nice evening with your loved ones and families, BGT Lakeview Restaurant & Bar at Kelana Park, Kelana Jaya do offer a tempting treat with a nice ambience to soothe a hard day at work.
