Yaki San Yakitori @ Sunway Pyramid Shopping - Japanese BBQ Snack Food Review

Japanese food is always one of my favourite food; with that +BestRestaurant ToEat was invited to taste another Yakitori outlet; this one resembles those that you commonly find in Japan; kiosk like or fast food type compared to the one (premium yakitori) that we had at Ri Yakitori at The Garden Hotels recently.

Yaki San Yakitori is located at Lot F1 AV 77- 83, Sunway Pyramid, 46150 Petaling Jaya. It is located at the vicinity of Asian Avenue. Yaki San means Mr Grilled; well you guess it, most of the food served here are grilled and fried. 

Yaki San serves an array of Japanese snack food; usually the Japanese eat these snack food with cold beer after a hard day at work i.e. Happy Hour. The setup of Yaki San is one that is of a fast food type; where patrons can order from the counter and either eat at the outlet or take away and eat during their shopping activities. 

Yaki San @ Sunway Pyramid serves an array of grilled items; in fact it has a special auto griller that does the first round of grilling to ensure all round cooking of the yakitori and then another griller as above to charred it a little more before serving to the guest.

Our review started with the order of the Shiitake Mushroom (RM2.90), Chicken with Leek (RM2.90)  Chicken with Green Pepper (RM2.70) and Chicken Thigh (RM2.20).

While the second round of orders are the Chicken Karaage (RM2.70). Very crisp skin with a thin layer of chicken; loves this.

Grilled Tofu (RM2.30); another of my favourite at Yaki San.

You have an option to order the YakiTori with rice in a combo set with 3 sticks of Yakitori (RM8.90) or with 4 sticks (RM9.90).

For families you can order a 10 sticks (RM22.00) or 15 sticks (RM32.00).

Espression 8 Cafe Bandar Sunway - A Cafe Next to Sunway University Review By Best Restaurant

The landscape of Bandar Sunway is changing rapidly i.e from an industrial area to a trendy and hipster area with the sprouting of new cafe around this area. One of latest cafe addition to the Bandar Sunway is the Espression 8 Cafe locate at No.8, Jalan PJS 11/7, Bandar Sunway, 46150 Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

Catering to the affluent market and the students from Sunway University, the demand for gourmet coffee and food has seen a steady rising demand. Espression 8 with its array of dishes and drinks are a hit for this market.

As most shops around this area used to be a factory setup, Espression 8 have fully capitalize on the vast area to put in a modern cafe setting that exudes a real comfy place for these targeted group to hang out.

Our review started with an order of Mango Yoghurt Frappes (RM11.00) - Although it does not really shout out from the look of this drink; it nevertheless was very delicious as it was strongly packed with mango taste. And on a hot day, it sure is a thirst quencher for me.

Our first food on the table; we had the Roasted Pumpkin Soup; which is a creamy version of Roasted Pumpkin Soup served with Crusty Bread (RM5.90).

Followed by the Chicken Wrap Benedict; it has the Omega Eggs, Chicken Breast, Tortilia Bread, BBQ Sauce, Roasted Vegetable (RM12.90).

Next is the Espression 8 Hearty Big Breakfast which consists of Omega Eggs, Beef Bacon, Chicken Ham, Chicken Sausage, Mushroom, Hash brown, with Ciabatta Bread (Optional: 2 Chicken Hams, if do not want beef bacon) (RM16.90).

For the main dish we had the Spaghetti Seafood Creamy; which is a Spaghetti dish in carbonara cream sauce and served with Prawns, Squid, Blue Mussel and English Parsley (RM15.90).

Next, We had the Gamberoni Spaghetti Aglio.

After which we had  Espression 8 Chicken Chop served with  Brown Sauce, Fries and Garden Salad (RM13.90).

For desserts; we had the Espression 8 Blueberry Pancake which was topped with Chocolate Sauce, Maple Syrup and Butter (RM9.90).

Overall Espression 8 Cafe @ Bandar Sunway is a nice place to chill out and have a cup of latte; if you happen to be near Bandar Sunway.

Taste Enclave @ Sunway Pyramid Hotel - Bringing Popular Famous Street Food In A Comfortable Ambience

Taste Enclave Sunway Pyramid recently opened its doors at the Sunway Pyramid Hotel in December 2014. It is the 3rd outlet here in Malaysia, that offers nostalgic and famous hawker fare and authentic quality cuisine all in one location.

Best Restaurant To Eat was invited for this special launch on 12th Feb 2015. Taste Enclave Sunway Pyramid is located at the Lobby Ground, Level Pyramid Tower, Sunway Pyramid Hotel, Persiaran Lagoon, Bandar Sunway 47500 Selangor which can sit up to 600 diners in the general dining area and a private room that can seat up to 10 people for a personal dining experience.

The ambience at the food atrium has been curated to evoke and enhance dining experiences while the food fare will be presented as wholesome and without frills, yet targeted to delight local taste buds. There are 10 stalls and 3 mini restaurants offering a variety of flavours and tastes.

Among the key offering at Taste Enclave Sunway Pyramid are, at the Coen Cafe which offers oven baked pizzas and pasta. 

Next, is the Grandeur Teppanyaki which offers live cooking show while waiting for your food to be served.

While the Jyuhachi Ban Express menu comprises of delectable dishes like Chicken Katsu, Ramen and Karrage Curry Mee. 

Followed by the Nasi Lemak, an all time Malaysian favourite at Nasi Lemak Kunyit.

Not forgetting, the famous crispy and flaky prata since 1960 of Jalan Kayu Prata from Singapore. At Jalan Kayu Prata, it also serves the mouth watering Dum Briyani where the meat is cooked with the rice ensuring that the meat juice are mix and blended to truly add more flavour to the rice.

Next is the famous Chicken and Duck roast meat from PUDU, i.e the Hong Kong Roast which uses its family own secretly recipe of 30 years to roast the meat to its full flavour and crisp skin perfection.

For those who loves to taste soup based noodles; you can opt for the signature Fish Head Noodle from the Ikar Deliciously Healthy stall, that offers a mixture of special soup flavour like the creamy cheese, ginger wasabi and pumpkin.

If you are looking for some spicy noodles then, you might like to taste the offering from Lorong Seratus Tahun, which serves curry noodles with cockles, cuttlefish and shrimp in a rich santan gravy blended with a special sambal paste; which use to sell it along a Penang street in the 1960. 

For fans of Chicken rice whether the steam version or the roast version, you can taste it at Nasi Ayam JJ.

While for the lovers of Thai food, you can taste the traditional dishes like Tom Yam Seafood Fried Rice, Pad Thai, Mango Sticky Rice and other thai delicacy at the ThaiLicious.

You can also try out the famous claypot chicken rice using a two-way heat system from the popular New Heun Kee.

For those that prefers some western fare, you can try out the Am Sande Cafe stall which serves the special Roasted Chicken Chop, Fried Chicken Chop and Fish and Chips.

The last food stall is the Selera Indonesia which serves up the special Mee Siam and Mee Rebus.

Of course, all these lip-smacking food need a drink or two; to quench your thirst and you can find a variety of fruit juice and drinks from the Big Tap and Fruit Juice Bar.

Overall, at Taste Enclave Sunway Pyramid, you are able to choose from a variety of tasty food to satisfy your craving without needing to go to different restaurant and different places for this delicious food to taste.

Crispy Crust @ Sunway PJS 10 Petaling Jaya – All Things Crispy and Crusty Review

Out of 5 Malaysian under 30, if you were to ask them what is their favourite food, chances are they will tell you it is Fried Food. With that Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to do a food review for a new outlet Crispy Crust @Sunway PJS 11 which specializes in Fried Food located at 39, Jalan PJS11/9, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya.

Crispy Crust @Sunway PJS 11 is located at the light industrial area which is just adjacent to the Sunway College and University, which explains quite a number of customer coming from here too. 

Being in the industrial factory unit, it has high ceiling and a wide façade that can cater to a sizable crowd.

The setting is one of a straight forward no frill and casual setting since most food serves here are fast food items which customer usually comes in for a quick meal and off to the next course of their work or study. 

The concept at Crispy Crust @Sunway PJS 11 is very straight forward i.e Design Your Own Set Menu i.e there are quite a number of Fried and Grilled food from the menu. One just selects which item that you want and add on, any additional sides.

To order, just choose from the menu which MAIN DISH you would like and then select the Extra and then any ADD-ON for your meal.

The MAIN DISH has 4 items on it which are Fried Chicken, 

Grilled Chicken, 

Fried Fish 

and Grilled Salmon.

While the EXTRA has Gohan (Japanese) Rice, 

Spaghetti, 

French Fries, Sandwich, Home Salad, Cheese, Beef Bacon, Caramel Bacon, Pan-Fried Eggs, 

Chicken Jumbo Sausages, Beef Jumbo Sausages and Pineapple Ring.

For the ADD ON, you can order the other snack which includes Home Made Chicken Nuggets, Fried Chicken Wings, Extra Fries, Nachos and Deep Fried Milk.

And for the drinks you can order the Home Made Lime Soda, any soft drinks from the Fizzy fountain and Beer which would be a nice pairing for all these Fried Food. 

Besides that, they have special Breakfast Set which consist of a Big Burger with either Fried Chicken or Grilled Chicken with a couple of beef bacon slices and topped with a pineapple ring with mayonnaise dressing. 

I preferred the burger with the Grilled Chicken as the meat is more tender and juicy while the pineapple ring gives out a sweet and tangy taste which blended well to the entire offering.

Well, if you are one of those that simply loves Fried Food, you might find Crispy Crust as a Haven for you. As the name suggest, all the Fried stuff , has Crust that are super Crispy at Crispy Crust @Sunway PJS 11.
