The Buzz Restaurant at Hotel Premiere Klang – Delightful Mouth Watering Spread Ramadan Buffet.

The Buzz Restaurant at Hotel Premiere Klang – Delightful Mouth Watering Spread Ramadan Buffet.

Not many Ramadan buffet in the Klang Valley offers more than 100 types of dishes. but here at The Buzz Restaurant located at Hotel Premiere in Klang it serves more than 100 dishes.

Ranging from Salad, Cold Cut, Ulam, Gado-Gado, Soup, Pizza, Spaghetti, Curry Noodles, Main Dishes (more than 10), BBQ (Lamb, Seafood, Chicken Wings), Nasi Briyani, Nasi Ayam, limitless desserts and the in season Durian Kampung. Sadly, yours truly is not able to try out every single dish here. It must be the first time in a buffet that I was unable to savour every dish that was served.

One of the main points according to Executive Chef of The Buzz Restaurant @Hotel Premiere- Mr. William Teo (more than 35 years of experience specializing in Western and Malay Dishes), it is not the number of dishes that we served but most importantly each dish were cooked to give you a total culinary delights to steer your every taste bud.

Above all, there are many “LIVE” cooking stations to ensure that your dishes are cooked and served just for you. You can choose your favorite ingredients and the portion for the Chef to cook it.

For the night, below are the lists of my favorite

The main highlight is the Roast Lamb – freshly Roasted and cut to the right serving size. The Lamb (from New Zealand) was marinated for more than one whole day before being roasted to perfection. The meat was tender and succulent. With the added brown sauce, it was a perfect fit to start this culinary experience.

My next favourite is the Sambal Petai Prawn. The prawn was very firm and the sambal gravy was so ingrained into the prawns and very juicy. The Petai was purposely half cooked so that you can savour the bitter sweet taste of the petai and the aromatic flavour of the petai. Blended with the sambal sauce, it was indeed tantalizing.

Next is the Soup Rusa, which was another fine example of the creativeness of the Chef, most restaurant will either serve you the soup kambing, gearbox or tulang rusuk. With the right blend of spices used and the use of venison meat as the base, it does not have any musky taste and not overwhelmimg.

For the main dish, we had the Stir Fried Beef With Capsicum & Black Pepper, the beef was very tender and the peppery sauce was not too spicy.

In the Briyani section, you can try the meat of choice of - Lamb, Chicken or Beef Curry With Potatoes. I personally enjoyed the Beef Curry, as it have a watery texture and the beef was very well cooked and the meat have a soft texture making it very easy to eat.

In the Luk Luk section, I  had the Poach Tiger Prawn,  the freshness of the prawns top it off. You can just eat it on its own without any need for any extra sauce and you will be able to appreciate the natural sweetness and the firm texture of the prawns.

Next, I had the curry noodles. Apparently, this is the Chef Grandmother Original recipe which has a Baba Nyonya origin. Nyonya Curry are usually laden with a lot of santan and the curry noodles served at The Buzz is of not exception. Due to this, it has a creamy soup texture and couple with the perfect combination of the condiment such as fish ball, cockles, taufoo, taugeh and etc.

Although there are many desserts served like a selection of Malay Traditional Kuih, which I did not have the chance to savour all of it,

but the one that stands out have to the Sarawa Durian With Pulut. The creamy durian although a little sweeter has a strong durian taste and was the perfect match to the pulut.

Bijan Bar & Restaurant @ Jalan Ceylon Fine Malay Cuisine Kuala Lumpur Ramadan Buffet Review by Best Restaurant To Eat

Fine Malay Dining - Bukit Bintang

There are many restaurants in the city offering Ramadan Buffet spread, one of the more traditional one is Bijan Bar & Restaurant which is located at 3, Jalan Ceylon, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

Bijan Bar & Restaurant is a highly acclaimed Fine Malay Cuisine and is a very popular restaurant serving authentic Malay food, right in the city center. Over the years, it has won many accolades and awards to stake this claims.

It’s décor provide the right ambience and experience for diners to savour the many Malay specialty dishes from various states in Malaysia. You get to try and taste some of the best dishes from these states such as the Kambing Masak Hitam from Penang, although most Chef will use Chicken or Beef to cook this dish.

Bijan Bar & Restaurant @Jalan Ceylon Chef Zulkifli is very particular about the ingredient that are used to cook its dishes, it has to be top pick in freshness to ensure consistent quality at all times.

For the Ramadan spread, Bijan Restaurant offers 5 rotating menu, this is to enable you to try out all the different spreads during this Ramadan season i.e. from 3rd July until 23rd July 2014. Each of the menu has it’s specialty appetizer, main course and of course desserts.

A hint to those who loves Durian (one of yours truly favourite fruit) – One of the rotating menu has the durian Cheese Cake which you can really smell and taste the durian flesh on every bite.

The other one has Chocolate Durian cake. These come in small pieces and it is a hidden gems – please make sure you discover it quickly, as it is a homemade Bijan Specialty Cakes. For your info, the durian type used for all their cakes, are from the illustrious D24 family.

For me, I find the beef satay (am not a real fan of beef satay) served in Bijan Bar and Restaurant very different, usually these beef satay are very dried and hard after the BBQ but here the chef have used a special marinate and the choice meat used was the strip loin meat which was very tender, juicy and flavourful.

My next favorite has to be the Tulang Rusuk Soup, which has a chewy beef  chunks (just the right texture and a have a very beef broth flavours. You can add in the yellow noodles, taufoo, eggs, taugeh to your liking to enhance this wholesome soup or just slurp it up as it is.

For the other spreads you can try out Bijan appetizer like Pisang Goreng (Banana Fritters) , Keladi Goreng (Yam Fritters) or Curry Puff.

There are the other roast and BBQ offering i.e. the Ayam Golek, Chicken Satay and Roast Beef.

For seafood lovers, you can select your favorite fresh seafood which includes Flower crabs, Mussels, Scallop, Lala, Prawns and White Squids which the waiter can grill for you.

For the main course, you can try out the Kambing Masak Hitam – i.e. Lamb in a Spiced Black Sauce with Tomatoes and Potatoes,

or the Ayam Masak Merah – Fried Chicken Simmered In A Red Sauce Of Chillies, Tomatoes and Spices,

or Ikan Gulai Darat – Rich Spices Fish Curry,

or Masak Lemak Udang – Prawns Cooked In Lightly Spiced Coconut Milk

or Super Springy Squid which is the Sotong Sambal Hijau – Squid cooked with Spicy Green Chilli Paste

or the lemon grass infused Kupang Goreng Serai – Stir Fried Mussel With Spiced Lemon grass – another one of my favorite here.

or the simple crunchy Pucuk Paku Goreng Tahi Minyak – Stir Fried Wild Fern With Chilli and Caramelized Coconut.

For desserts, there are an array of colourful Malay kuih and specialty cakes ie. Durian Cheese cakes if you are one of the lucky few.

Also there are the ABC – Air Batu Campur which you can pre-mix your favourite add-on of roasted ground nuts, cream of corn, nutmeg, grass jelly and so on to be served with a craving of shave ice, top with sweet sirap, enchanting gula Melaka and a dose of evaporated milk.

It has been a great dining experience for me to dine in this elegant Bijan Bar and Restaurant where you will be pampered with the Fine Malay dishes to entice your tastebud.

Bijan Bar & Restaurant @Jalan Ceylon  is collaborating with TableApp where you can book your table over the Internet via your desktop of mobile phone for your Ramadan experience. With TableApp you will never find yourself without a table at Bijan Bar And Restaurant.

Isme Beauty Café – A Comfort Place To Chill Out In Busy Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur

Theme Café and Kopitiam are sprouting out from everywhere. But a beauty café is something new. We were invited to preview Malaysia first beauty café i.e. Isme Beauty Café which is located at Lot B-1-1, 1st Floor, Bintang Fairlane, 23, Jalan Walter Grenier – Just behind Park Royal Hotel in Jalan Sultan Ismail.

The overall environment and ambience in this café is very relaxing and nice place to chill with friends and associates. From the café you can sit next to the window while having a view of the busy street life down below sipping your coffee while enjoying your delicious deserts. The café is very well insulated from the outside noise and you are able to converse easily without any trouble of raising your voice.

So, what you get from a beauty café, well everything about beauty of course. Here you can shop for your cosmetics and at the same time chill with your buddies as they served nice cakes and coffees. One of the most important selling features of IsMe is the fact that all the food serves here are scrutinized by their in-house food nutritionist i.e. to ensure that all the ingredients used are low fat.

But then again, all nice food are usually high fat food, so here comes the challenge of whether such type of food i.e. cheese cake can be low fat and delicious at the same time.

We were indeed surprised upon tasting our first bite of the Blueberry Cheese Cake, it has the strong cheese flavoured, moist and the blueberry topping which was not too sweet and  lumpy.

Next, we had the Mango Mille Crepe Cake. Baking crepe cakes is a very time consuming process and requires a very patient baker to put up with all the layers of crepes. You have to bake each layer and lay upon it one layer at a time. The perfect mango puree and cream was very well balanced and again it was not too sweet and very nice to be taken with the coffee of your choice.

For chocolate cake lovers, the next cake would be definitely be your choice, which is Brownie Top Up With Vanilla Ice-Cream. Perfect blend although you have to be quick to eat this cake else all the Ice-Cream will begin to melt.

Tiramisu – another great offering here. The chef had used a slightly strong brandy and you can immediately taste this from the first scope. It leaves you wanting for the next scope. Don’t remember that Tiramisu tastes so nice for a long time. Most Tiramisu offered elsewhere are usually quite plain.

For the main dishes, we had the Creamy Mushroom Spaghetti. Although it was a little less creamy but taste wise, the sauce has strong mushroom flavors in it. Nice for people who are worried about those much of meat for lunch or for those who just wanted a light lunch.

Next on, is the coffee. There are the specialty coffee serves here, but one of the main difference is that the barista have been trained in the art of coffee décor. He was patiently decorating some of the coffees for us which are as follows

Isme Signature Coffee

Caffe Mocha

Cappuccino

Affagato – for me it is another standout desserts served here. The right balance of vanilla ice cream and the espresso shot at the bottom of the glass was simply overwhelming as the blending was just perfect. You can taste the lingering strong coffee taste right into your throat.

If coffee is not your cup of tea, you may want to be a little more adventurous to try out the Gynostemma Tea - a healthy and refreshing tea.

Overall, it has been a great outing having to have such nice cakes in the middle of bustling city center although it is a little challenge to get parking at these areas. Well, the next time you need to chill out with some friends or just relax with a piece of cakes and coffee before heading home, you can check out this cafe.
