Damansara Perdana Food: Fork D World Bistro Cafe Restaurant - Porkilicious Meal To Die For

We have tasted many restaurant that specializes in Pork dishes, but at Fork D World located at
D2-G-3A, Ritze Perdana 1 Commercial Lot, Jalan PJU 8/2, Damansara Perdana Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, pork meat dishes takes a new twist and dimension to will tantalize your taste-buds.

The decor of the cafe restaurant is one of a simple and straight forward; no frills setup but what excites us is the way the dishes are cooked using the pork meat especially the Chinese style roast pork and pork bacon as you read this blog posts.

Pork is one of yours truly favourite as this last minute invitation was accepted purely to taste one of the very unique and special dish which is the Awesome Bacon Lou Sang (RM55.00+). We have done  numerous number of Lou Sang review this time around and the thought of having a pork inspired Lou Sang got us to accept this very last minute invitation with no regrets.

Not content to use the normal ingredient in setting up this Lou Sang dish; the core ingredients are Streaky Bacon, Crispy Fried Pig Skin, Strips of Back Bacon, with Guava, Fried Yam, peeled Mandarin oranges and Pomelo. The in-house blended plum sauce has been specially fine tuned with Fried Bacon Bits to add an extraordinary porky flavour to this Lou Sang. The end result is that we had finished the entire Lou Sang to the last bit; a testament of how delicious this was. This is the first time we had the opportunity to taste a Bacon Lou Sang.

After the explosive Lou Sang, we had an appetizers, which is aptly named as Bacon Bombs (8 pieces) (RM18.00). technically when you bite into this Bomb; the enclosed cheese will explode in your mouth. For fans of cheese and pork; this appetizers really is a must not miss dish for you. The Mozarella cheese is wrapped around the crusty pastry within the bacon which is then deep fried to a crisp and topped with sprinkles of brown sugar.

After that, we had the Carbonara (RM22.00). This is a classic farmhouse carbonara sauce with Bacon and topped with a raw egg yolk. Stirred up the egg yolk and it will gel to form a rich creamy texture and aroma to the pasta of your choice.

The next pasta dish is a very addictive and a very sinful dish for those cholesterol watcher. This is the Siew Yoke / Roast Pork Fried Pasta (RM22.00). Using Olive oil and a mixture with the pork fats from the frying of the Roast Pork which is then sauteed with garlic and chili padi, it infuses a very aromatic tinge of spicy porky flavours to this simple looking but mouth watering pasta dish.

For the mains; we had the Grilled Australian Lamb Loin (RM35.00). The Aussie Loin meat which is marinated with a secret recipe of more than 20 years are grilled to a nice juicy charred and a taste which reminiscent the sugary Char Siew flavour. Served with a side of roasted vegetable, mini potatoes  and topped with a piece of fried bacon.

At Fork D World; there also serves a number of in-house made 9 inch pizza. We had the opportunity to taste 2 of it; which the first one is the Sambal Shrimp Pizza (RM22.00). The dough are in-house made and have a fine texture which is not too thick and still retains a nice doughy crunch. This pizza is then topped with shrimp, bacon chips, cheese and a special sambal which is not overly spicy tomato based sauce.

The second pizza which we had; is the savoury Roast Pork Pizza (RM22.00); this is another first, never before had we tasted a Roast Pork Pizza; but the verdict is you really have to go for a second piece and if possible a third piece or better still just order one whole pizza just for yourself.

The last dish before dessert is a new kid on the block daily specials (not on menu) which is the Porky Bacon Lasagna. If Garfield has tasted this lasagna, I bet he will jump to the roof; as the lasagna was made with bacon chips in a special in-house made bolognese sauce and topped with a sinfully rich layer of cheese.

Desserts from Fork D World Cafe are all in-house made; Here the desserts are not too sweet and just nice for our taste. The first dessert is the Durian Egg Pudding (RM8.00+); the pudding has a fine soft texture and a strong aroma of the durian. Too bad, I can't get another helping as we have eaten all there is.

Next we had the Chocolate Brownie (RM12+) - 2 portion in picture. The chocolate brownie are usually on a non permanent basis. For today it was made with cream cheese and are alternate with chocolate mint, peanuts with M&M and chocolate orange to gives the customers a varied choice of the day.

After that is the Dessert Waffle (RM10.00+) - 2 portion in picture. The waffles are American style which has a crisp texture as compared to the Belgian type which normally has a firmer texture. This waffles is served with a scoop of ice-cream and drizzle with salted caramel.

The last dessert that we had is the Apple Crumble (RM10+) - 2 portion in picture. Served with a scoop of ice-cream.

As the saying goes what is nice is not healthy but what is healthy is not nice. You have to make that decision. For pork meat lovers, you can really feast here on those cheat day to enjoy this sinful but scrumptious dishes that are served here.

And for those that really like to taste the Awesome Bacon Lou Sang, you better hurry up as it is served from now till the 15th day of Chinese New Year. Please take note that the restaurant is closed from 7th Feb 2016 to 14th Feb 2016. So you better hurry up if you really want to taste this special Lou Sang.

One Utama Food: ROCKU Yakiniku Japanese Charcoal Grill Restaurant - Smokeless Charcoal BBQ Buffet

What is the first thing that comes to mind about Charcoal based BBQ; the unpleasant feeling of smoke both from the charcoal and the grilled food that engulf your entire body after the meal. But here at ROCKU Yakiniku Japanese Charcoal Grill 1 Utama Shopping Centre located at Lot F355/356/357 1st Floor RainForest No.1 Lebuh Bandar Utama Bandar Utama Petaling Jaya Selangor; they have a special system that will make a barbecue meal; a pleasant dining experience as you will find out later.

As most of us know that Charcoal BBQ Grill is the most authentic and flavourful method to grill ny type of fresh food (if perfectly done) as it will exudes the right balance of smokey taste and aroma to the meat or vegetables. Here at Rocku Yakiniku there is no chimney like structure used to extract the smoke but it is using a vacuum system that sucks out the smoke at the side of the BBQ stove; making it a very pleasant and comfortable way to eat BBQ in the comfort of an air condition environment.

Another specialty in dining at Rocku Yakiniku; is that in the evening from 7pm to 11pm daily; you will be entertained by a Live Singing Performance serenading popular songs while you enjoy barbecuing your meals. The concept of entertainment cum dining experience enables you to dine and wine in a comfortable environment while the enjoying the numbers that are belted out by the singers.

During weekends there are also special Live entertainment happening from 1pm - 4pm; and there are special Magic show performance on Saturday too.

Customers can start out their buffet from the snack bar which has small snack /appetizer type food like squid, jelly fish, Sushi, Udon, Fried Nugget, Fried Rice while waiting for the meat and seafood to be barbecue.

Others pre cooked food selection include the Kaarage, Tori Hanbaga, Tori Gyoza & Togarasi Potatoes, Chawan mushi and etc.

For the fresh BBQ item, you can ordered either ala-carte or as a platter, we started with the Seafood Platter which consists of Prawns, Squid, Mussels & Scallops. You can also ordered it individually if you have preference for the different type of seafood of your choice.

Next, we ordered the Pork Platter which has Pork Belly, Pork Collar & Pork Bacon. Each individual order comes with 3 pieces of the meat. As it is cut into a very thin slice; it does not take much effort to barbecue these meat to right balance of smoky aroma blended with the natural taste of the meat.

We love the pork bacon as it has that special salty charcoal aroma taste after being put onto the BBQ pit.

For Beef lovers you can order the thinly sliced beef Platter which consists of
Beef Chuck Tender, Rib-eye and Strip-lion slices.

or try out the special Lamb Shoulder with a special marinade.

You can complement the meat dishes with vegetables like ladies fingers, corn, capsicum, brinjal, enoki, mushroom and more from the salad selection.

For those that loves alcoholic drinks to go along your BBQ, you can also order your favorite  drinks like beers, sake or you can order the ice cream which has a silky smooth texture.

Prices for the BBQ buffet are as above.

ROCKU Yakiniku Japanese Charcoal Grill Restaurant is indeed the perfect get-together barbecue dining for you and your friends to enjoy without getting into a mess after the meal.

Bukit Bintang Food: Lai Ching Yuen Chinese Restaurant @ Grand Millennium Hotel Kuala Lumpur - 2016 Fire Monkey Chinese New Year Auspicious Set Menu

Serving auspicious meal during Chinese New Year will exudes the charm and joy of the festivities of this once in a year celebration. To celebrate this 2016 Year Of Fire Monkey Chinese New Year, Lai Ching Yuen Chinese Restaurant @Grand Millennium Hotel Kuala Lumpur; Chef Terrence Foong Kuan Onn which has more than 30 years of culinary experience in Cantonese cuisine has drummed up 5 special set menu for you to savour during this New Year.

Lai Ching Yuen Chinese Restaurant +Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur has been renowned for serving top quality Chinese Cantonese cuisine for many decades and is recognised by the experience and talents of its Chinese chef.

Unlike most other Chinese Restaurant which are either heavily decorated in Red or brightly lit, Lai Ching Yuen decor is more subdued giving diners a more private, posh, relaxing and cosy dining environment.

The special five Chinese Set Menus for 10 person are the Active & Vigorously Set (RM 1,268 nett), Good Fortunes (RM 1,618 nett), Happy & Prosperous (RM 1,968 nett), Peace Season (RM 2,428 nett) and Smiles Of Fortune (RM 2,688 nett)

+BestRestaurant ToEat was served the Active & Vigorously Set which start off with the must have Yee Sang which is the Yee Sang With Jelly Fish & Crispy Fish Skin. We love the Fried Crispy Fish Skin as it blend a nice crunch texture to the Yee Sang.

Next on is the Assorted Seafood Soup With Tofu. Cooked with a combination of crab meat, scallop, prawn meat, thinly sliced asparagus to give a different texture, color and taste to the tofu soup.

And this is followed by the Buttered Prawn. The prawns are fried and then cooked with butter, curry leaves and eggs. One key point to this dish is not over frying the prawn and this was done nicely by the chef, which still retains a nice texture and blended with the saucy butter taste.

For fish, we had the Steamed Mandarin Fish With Minced Ginger. We love the texture and taste of the steam fish. Steaming fish can be a very challenging task for a Chef; if you over steamed the fish; the flesh will be hard. Getting the right balance especially a premium fish like this takes a lot of perfect timing and patience.

For meat, in this set, it comes with a Cantonese-Style Roasted Crispy Duck. Credit to the Chef for getting the skin roasted to a crisp while retaining the meat to still have a tender soft texture.

Many restaurant tends to offers their green as a gravy sauce type, but here the chef has done it differently on this Deep Fried Enoki Mushroom With Hong Kong Kailan. Choosing the perfectly young shoot of Kale which was stirred fried and laid with a topping of Fried Enoki which is seasoned with a light salt batter was a nice blend to our green dish.

The last dish before dessert is the Fried Rice With Assorted Chinese Waxed Meat Wrapped In Lotus Leaf. The rice are fried and then wrapped in a lotus leaf which is then steamed to add a different flavour to this waxed meat dish.

One of the dessert for Chinese New Year is the Nian Gao, Here at Lai Chine Yuen it is served  as the New Year "Nian Gao" Dual Variation. The first version is the Nian Gao which is sandwiched with a piece of Yam on one side and Sweet Potato on the other which is then battered up and sent to the fryer. The other version are for fans and lovers of Eggs; The Nian Gao is battered with a layer of scrambled eggs and are then pan fried.

To end our review, we were served a chilled Double Boiled Chrysanthenum with Longan & Black Sesame Rice Dumpling. A sweet and cold ending for our review at this lovely restaurant.

Celebrate this 2016 Year Of Fire Monkey in Grand Style at Lai Ching Yuen Chinese New Year @Grand Millennium Hotel Kuala Lumpur
