Pork Place - Puchong IOI Boulevard - Premium Porkilicious DishesReview

There are quite a number of restaurant that features pork as its key ingredients; but non so far as to a have restaurant that bred it's own pig i.e. from farm to table. +BestRestaurant ToEat was invited to this special review at The Pork Place, No 31, IOI Boulevard, Jalan Kenari 7, Bandar Puchong Jaya, 47100 Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia; where the pork that are served comes from their very own locally bred farm in Johor.

The Pork Place @Puchong is unlike any other restaurant where you can also buy fresh pork meat too, there is a air conditioned, clean and hygienic counter that customers can walk in and buy their favourite parts of pork meat. Their brand of pork is called SanBanto which is in the business of supplying the highest quality of pork to some of the restaurants and supermarkets in Malaysia for the past 13 years.

Their pork farm has received ISO certification to ensure top quality produce and production process. Sanbanto has also successfully bred a special Black pig called "Hei Zhu" which has its origin from the heritage Berkshire breed from English county. The result is the quality of marbled leaner meat and firmer flesh that suit the taste and cooking style of Malaysian market.

We started our review with 2 salad which is the Pork Belly Salad (RM18.90); the pork belly strips are deep fried and served with fresh seasoned local and imported fresh green vegetable with a french dressings.

The Pork Belly has a crisp and crunchy feel while the sweet lychee was a nice mixture to balance off with the pork belly.

Next, we had the Pork Bacon Salad (RM21.00) which is served with fresh Romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, olives topped with cheddar cheese and bacon bits served with our special house made orange dressings.

Followed by the special Hei Zhu meat dishes, which is only available for weekend; starting with the Twirls of Landrace-Duroc (RM22.80) also known as (AKA) Pig in Blanket which is meaty pork wrapped in Bacon and coated with a special in-house made sauce on a bed of garden salad.

the next "Hei Zhu" special was the Loin Steaks (RM50.00); a thin and succulent steaks which is grilled and served with onion rings and potatoes with wings.

The problem with Loin Steaks is, the meat tends to be a little harder after it is grilled, but if you add in the sauce it covers some of this shortcoming.

This is then followed by the Collar Steak (RM68.00) which is a special cut and cooked with a rich bone stock and served with dauphinoise potatoes. The meat was braised until a soft and smooth texture.

The last dish from the "Hei Zhu" weekend menu is the Best Of Bellies (RM65.00) - A juicy chunks of pork belly served with mashed potatoes and mushrooms.

This dish is only revered by those that loves the really pork fats as this pork belly is literally covered with more than 90% pure juicy fats.

After that we were served some speciality dishes from the standard menu, which is the Crispy Skin Pork Knuckle; the Pork Knuckles is oven roasted to ensure a moist, tender and juicy meat on the inside and a crisp, crunchy skin on the outside.

The Pork Knuckles is served with mashed potatoes and shredded cabbage with a special concocted mustard sauce at the side. The meat of the knuckles was very tender and does not have any porky smell making it a delight to be eaten especially for me who just loves Pork Knuckles.

and the last dish for the review was the Barbecue Ribs; which is a special cut of ribs belly meat which is marinated with an in-house Barbecue sauce.

The ribs was very tender, succulent and it easily cut off without putting too much pressure while cutting. The cooking process takes many steps of coating with the barbecue sauce, until it is charred sufficiently leaving a strong aroma of the grill and the taste of flavourful sauce. It is served on a bed of mashed potatoes and salad.

If you just love everything pork or just love to eat Pork; the Pork Place @Puchong is sure the place to be whether you want to dine in or buying some of the premium pork for home cooking.

Puchong Setia Walk Big Spoon - A Spoonful of Food review by Best Restaurant

Nowadays the trend of eating is to eat a petite serving thereby enabling you to taste more delicacies. With that note, Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to preview Big Spoon at D-7-G, Block D, Setia Walk Persiaran Wawasan Puchong, Selangor.

The unique concept of Big Spoon is to serve an unique American Chinese fusion cuisine in a spoon, a real big spoon.

The decor of Big Spoon is one with a simple no-fuss design with a very simple menu - real fast food stuff.

Most of the dishes served at Big Spoon are quite similar in concept like a dim sum offering, where you can order these appetizer dishes.

We started the review with the Tomatoes in Sweet Osmanthus sauce - This is one of the most popular appetizers during summer. Chilled tomatoes are tossed with an inhouse made osmanthus glaze to give it a refreshing sweet and sour taste with a subtle fragrance of osmanthus to stimulate your appetite in a hot summer afternoon.

followed by the Oriental Salad - A Fresh, crisp, and cold combination of Iceberg Lettuce, cherry tomatoes and Fried Wonton Wrap. Drizzled with an oriental flavor salad dressing which consist of Soy sauce, Peanut butter, vinegar, sugar and black bean hot sauce.

and followed by Steam Dumplings which came with a special in house sauce. I find the dough to be a little too thick though.

After which we had the Pan Fried Dumplings - This version of dumpling is the Pan fried northeast china handmade Dumplings which is stuffed with chicken and napa cabbage. It goes well together with either the house special black bean hot sauce or the combination of vinegar and house special hot oil.

the next appetizer we had is the Fried Spring Roll - This Spring roll is an iconic item on most menu of Chinese restaurant in America. The spring roll here at Big Spoon is served with an house special dipping sauce.

The last starter that we had was the Strawberry butter cream prawns (not on menu yet)- Big size wild catch of sea prawns from South China Sea is cooked to perfection to ensure the bouncy and firm texture of the prawn is maintained. Served with butter cream sauce which is sweet and savory and garnish with strawberry to add a sweet tinge of sourish of the strawberry to extract out the full flavors of the Prawns.

Chicken Cold Noodle - A cold noodle dish topped with shredded chicken meat.

For desserts, we had the Golden Pear Essence Dessert - A 3 hours-slow-cooked clear soup; boil with Pear, white fungus, wolfberries, and rock sugar.

followed by the Crispy Taro Roll – which is a homemade hot dessert or snack stuffed with taro root paste which has no artificial coloring or flavoring while the two ends of roll are dipped in fragrant roasted sesame seed.

For me, the overall food that are served at Big Spoon is more for a snack meal or small eat where you savour each of these snacks. For people who likes to munch; Big Spoon meals will be a good choice for you.

Caffeinated Cafe@ Puchong IOI Boulevard - Sipping Specialties Coffee With Caffeine Infused Dishes Review By Best Restaurant

Specialties coffee outlet are sprouting out in great numbers these days. More and more people are in love with these coffee and Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to preview Caffeinated @ Puchong IOI Boulevard located at C-GF-43, Ground Floor IOI Boulevard, Jalan Kenari 5, Bandar Puchong Jaya 47170 Puchong Selangor.

The decor at Caffeinated Cafe @ Puchong IOI Boulevard is one of a no frill modern neighbourhood cafe setting.

Since it is located in the IOI Boulevard covered foyer, you can also dine al-fresco minus the natural element like rain, flume and dust usually associated with other outdoor dining place.

The coffee blend serves at Caffeinated Cafe @ Puchong IOI Boulevard comes from Brazil, Columbia, Sumatra and Mexico.

What differentiate Caffeinated Cafe @ Puchong IOI Boulevard is that; it gives coffee a new twist with a different concoction like adding and mixing liquor to the coffee. A unique and new way to savour coffee.

The question is whether you are gamed for it. The first coffee that was served to us is the Martini Espresso. It is concocted with a blend of ice-shaken concoction of KahLua, Vodka, Espresso.

Next, we had the Bailey's Tiramisu; a concoction of mascarpone cheese, fresh milk, espresso with Baileys' Irish Cream. We usually eat Tiramisu cake with our favorite coffee, but this drinks bring forth an exquisite Tiramisu taste in a drink mix with espresso much like the taste of having a coffee after a bite of the Tiramisu cake with a light liqour taste.

This is then followed by Lemon Grass Heineken; A very refreshing and cooling drink from the use of the Lemon Grass. It tasted a little stronger than Shandy as the amount of beer used in this drink is much higher proportion and the aroma and taste of the fresh lemon grass gives it a special twist.

Another unique drink serves here is the Orange Black; which is a combination of Orange juice and espresso.

After which is the Dark Chocolate Float; which has a strong flavour of Chocolate taste which blended very well with the Kapiti ice cream. The decor of it was very interesting too from the use of the Oreo biscuit (for the ear) and coffee bean(for the eyes) to decorate it to resemble; an Android.

Last of the drink is the Affogato; The espresso was just right and blended with the smooth Pohutukawa Honey Kapiti Ice cream to gives it a slightly sweeter taste to the Espresso.

We were then served with some specialty food serves at Caffeinated Cafe @ Puchong IOI Boulevard which; the first was the Carbonara with Mushroom. The generous portion of the mushroom used were the shimeiji, shitake and button mushroom.

The heavy cream sauce with egg yolk, onion garlic, basil and white wine was thick and this makes the dish very rich in flavours as the taste of the mushroom and Parmesan cheese was ingrained into each strip of spaghetti.

This is then followed by the Mushroom Pizza which was served with a thin crust; The right balance of sauce base used and the timing of the baking was nice as you can taste the crisp while still enjoying the simple mushroom flavours topping.

Another crowd favourite at Caffeinated is the under the Breakfast Menu which is the Mushroom With White Sauce.

The mushroom white sauce are best eaten with the accompaniment of the crunchy muesli toast.

Next, we were served the specially created espresso infused dish which is Coffee Pomodoro with Smoked Duck. The pasta was cooked with minced chicken on a tomato Pomodoro sauce and before panning it out;  a single shot of espresso was added to the pasta to gives it a special caffeine flavour.

This dish has its uniqueness in that you either like it or hate it as the strong espresso flavours can be a turn off especially for light coffee drinker.

The next dish is the German Sausage Baguette; the use of the meatier and crunchy premium Thuringer German sausage stand out on this dish. With a sesame dressing and cheddar cheese garnished with cucumber, red and green coral on a wasabi mayo dressing to top it off with a wholemeal baguette.

At Caffeinated Cafe, dinner comes special with a sharing platter called the UNDER THE SEA platter. It is a platter that consist of seafood with premium sausages.

A scrumptious platter with juicy seafood i.e. Dory fish, squid and prawns together with Foot-long, German sausage and Spicy French sausage, Aglio Olio spaghetti, fries, grilled sweet corn, tomato, sesame dressing salad and crispy nachos for extra bites.

For coffee lovers, at Caffeinated Cafe @ Puchong IOI Boulevard, you can get to savour coffee in a different light where you can experience and taste coffee like never before. You can check out their Caffeinated Cafe facebook page here.
