Tim Ho Wan @ Mid Valley Mega Mall - New Menu and Four Heavenly King Dim Sum Review

Mention of Tim Ho Wan @ Mid Valley - A Michelin Star and Hong Kong Most Famous Dim Sum, you can picture the long queue of people and waiting for a seat at this new restaurant that was opened December 2014 at Mid Valley.

Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to a food review for 3 new dishes that will be available from 8th March 2015 and also to taste the Four Heavenly King Dim Sum and some other specialty dim sum at Tim Ho Wan located at 27-G, Ground Floor, The Boulevard, Mid Valley City Mega Mall.

First to be debuted and exclusively available in Mid Valley restaurant is the Signature 5 Treasures. This irresistible savoury combines silky bean curd, deep fried tofu, capsicum and eggplant generously stuffed with shrimps and chicken paste accompanied by its Chef’s Signature, black bean sauce. This healthy and colourful serving is very much enjoyed by many dim sum lovers.

Tim Ho Wan brings to the table Steamed Chicken with Fish Maw. This dish invites you to indulge on the succulent and juicy, steamed-to-perfection chicken with fresh mushroom and fish maw in its silky abalone sauce. Just picturing the dish alone is enough to make one salivate! Yums!

Besides that, make your way gourmet-heaven with Tim Ho Wan’s Crystal Shrimp Roll with Century Egg. This is packaging with shrimp paste, asparagus, fish roe and century egg that are enveloped in crystal-clear rice dumpling skin. For a finishing touch, the dumplings are then drenched in abalone sauce! With its Michelin Star status to keep up with, Tim Ho Wan guarantees you a gastronomic dining experience at a conveniently affordable price.

At Tim Ho Wan, its ‘Four Heavenly Kings’, namely Baked Bun with BBQ Pork; The pork buns are crumbly and fluffy on the outside cooked-to-perfection barbecued pork oozing with deliciously sweet-salty sauce inside.

The Vermicelli Roll Stuffed with Pork Liver is an interesting change from the traditional “chee cheong fun” dish. This vermicelli roll has a very velvety texture while the fresh pork liver lends a gamey flavour which blended well with the chee cheong fun and the soya sauce.

Next is the Pan Fried Carrot Cake which is spiked with scrumptious radish bits.

and ending the Four Heavenly Kings is the Steamed Egg Cake. The egg cake is light and spongy, with a hint of flavourful caramelised taste. A must order dish.

From the list of item from the standard menu a, total of 25 dishes are being offered, we were served the Braised Chicken Feet with Abalone Sauce. The Chicken feet were braised to a soft texture that makes eating it a breeze.

One of my favourite Dim Sum dish is the Steamed Pork Rib with Black Bean Sauce. The bean paste sauce was just right without overwhelmingly salty.

Next was the Glutinous Rice with Lotus Leaf

and lastly for the Dim Sum is the crispy Beancurd Skin Roll with Shrimp.

To end the food review we had the Tonic Medlar & Osmanthus Cake as our dessert.

So, if you do not like to wait for the queue, you can make a reservation at the Tim Ho Wan special dining area or private room located at the mezzanine floor that can seat up to 48 people. Extra charges are applicable on these room. Please check it out by calling them to make this reservation.

Black Bull Mid Valley Kuala Lumpur– A New Place To Dine, Drink, Bowl, Sing, Pool and Dart Grand Opening

Is there such a place where you can do all that in Kuala Lumpur. The answer is YES. Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to the Grand Opening of Black Bull located at Lot T-003, 3rd Floor South Court, Mid Valley Megamall 59200 Kuala Lumpur.

Black Bull Mid Valley offers its patrons, an all in one place where you entertain yourself and your guests with a multitude of entertainment.

You can start off with a game of pool or bowling at the Brunswick bowling lane and then proceed to have a western fusion dinner at the lounge which can then be followed by a karaoke session and then end with a drink or two at the bar while playing with the electronic darts machines. So much to do.

The setting is of, one that is energetic, vibrant and upbeat where guests are constantly being entertained with the lively music. At Black Bull Mid Valley, there are just too many things you can do that will easily revitalize your soul from the daily work stress.

During the Grand Opening, we were feasted to some of the food offering from the kitchen which includes the Salsa

Grilled Seabass With Spicy Peanut Sauce

Roasted Meltique Beef With Brown Sauce

arrays of fresh green salad

and desserts and free flow of beers.

After dinner we had the chance to belt out some of the oldies numbers in the private KTV rooms.

After the Karaoke session, it was our turn to try out our mediocre bowling skills in the special eight lane Brunswick bowling alley.

This bowling alleys differs from the standard alley which are very brightly lit, the ambience on the alley is one of a soothing blue and calm which is suitable for casual bowlers like yours truly that want to enjoy a game or two.

Lastly, we ended the night with some dart throwing at the electronic dart machines which you do not need to keep the score manually like in other pubs. This makes the game more interesting as the score will be the most accurate for those that want a challenge for a game or 2.

Overall, we had spent more than 6 hours in the Black Bull Mid Valley and all of us were indeed a very happy and joyful lot having spent the night doing all this fun entertainment all in one night at one place.

So, the next time, you do not know where to go and there are too many suggestions, then you and your friends can head over to Black Bull Mid Valley, where there will be at least one entertainment that will fit in. What’s more you can also book the Black Bull to host some of your corporate events, gatherings and private parties too.

EDO Ramen @Mid Valley – Affordable Ramen For Ramen Lovers Review – Best Restaurant To Eat

By sheer coincidence, this is a back to back review of premium food made affordable by its sheer business prowess of its operator. We did one of the affordable meals earlier which was pasta but this time around it is the Ramen - another one of my favorite food. We had quite a number of Ramen reviews which, were priced anywhere from RM20.00 and above for a super tasty bowl of goodness.

We were invited to the EDO RAMEN @MID VALLEY outlet located at Mid Valley for the new offering of quality ramen at below RM10.00. Sounds impossible. So, what is in store, does it meets our expectation of a good quality and tasty Ramen.

EDO RAMEN @MID VALLEY décor is just a simple décor with minimum Japanese décor. It is brightly lit, has a simple menu and service is quick. This is the model in Japan, where customers come in for a quick bowl of ramen at a low price. Most of the time due to space constraint in Japan, the Japanese usually slurp up the piping hot Ramen standing

EDO RAMEN @MID VALLEY makes its own home made Ramen fresh daily, from the outlet based on a unique recipe by notable ramen connoisseur Mr Tetsuya Fukino. This is to ensure that you will be able to continue to enjoy the springy ramen.

The simple menu offering in EDO RAMEN @MID VALLLEY offers Ramen enthusiasts the option of 5 types of soups which is TOKYO, TONKOTSU, MISO, BLACK and GYUKOTSU and 2 categories of toppings (normal and ultimate) depending on your personal preference. Each bowl of Ramen also comes with a Lava Egg topping.

The first soup based we had, was the TONKOTSU broth in which, pork leg bones and trotters are boiled over medium to high heat, to extract out the marrow and collagen, which explains the strong hearty pork flavours of the broth.

After more than 12 hours, the final result is that the broth is of light brown in colour, sticky, thick and of a creamy quality – the hallmark of a tasty TONKOTSU broth. Although this is not the best Tonkotsu Ramen that I had before, the price you pay at RM9.90 is really a steal by itself.

The next ramen, we had was the MISO broth, Miso sauce is added to the TONKOTSU soup base to gives a tangy and robust taste of the Miso. This is really for those who loves Miso and Ramen.

For this, after adding in the MISO, the soup based is not as strong as the classic TONKOTSU, it was somewhat milder in taste and texture.

The next soup broth was the GYUKOTSU RAMEN, this is a new beef stock soup base introduce at EDO RAMEN, which I believe is used to test the acceptance level of beef broth in RAMEN.

For me, I would have preferred a much stronger beef flavours for my Ramen.

EDO RAMEN is running a promotion for this GYUKOTSU RAMEN.

For those who wants to add-on side dishes, among others the EDO RAMEN signature ABURI JAPANESE CHAR SIEW is a must add on. The individually slice Char Siew are grilled to a nice maillard, is slippery on the chop stick and melt in your mouth.

A must add on, if you are like me, really enjoy tasty meat with my Ramen.

EDO RAMEN also offers 2 types of Gyoza, the first one is BOILED GYOZA – which have an added spicy oil layering at the bottom of the Gyoza.

The next Gyoza is the PAN FRIED GYOZA.

With the cost going up, you can still be able to savour tasty and affordable homemade Ramen from EDO RAMEN.
