BGT Lakeview Restaurant & Bar - Plaza Kelana Jaya - Dining ByThe Lake - Best Restaurant Review

There are not many restaurant that offers a nice dining view; what's more the view of a soothing lake while enjoying your lovely dinner with your loved one. With that, Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to a review at BGT Lakeview Restaurant & Bar located at C-06, Plaza Kelana Jaya, Jalan SS7/13A, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The restaurant is nestled between the side of the lakes, so you can actually dine just right beside the lake with no obstructing view of the lake and its surrounding.

The setup is one that can provide you with a relaxing, romantic and soothing evening settings with nice food to savour in while you enjoy the company of your loved one.

Our review started with the Giant Head Prawn Salad (RM43). The prawns are poached and the meat are extracted out from the shell. The freshness of the prawn meat was bouncy and succulent and perfectly mixed with the watermelon, green & red apples, mandarin and raisin. Served cold, it was the perfect start to the warm evening.

This was then followed by the Amori Di Mare Soup (RM20) i.e the Love of the sea which has the mussels, lala, squid and prawns as the main ingredients was a good choice for the soup. You can taste all the seafood flavours in a slightly spicy soup base. The toasted garlic bread was a good complement to this soup.

The next dish is the Tortellini Beef  (RM21) which is a beef dumpling with a tomato based sauce served with fresh garden salad.

Our next segment is the Wood Fired Pizza; the first of which is Meat Lovers Pizza (RM35). The Pizza dough was wafer thin and crisp, with a generous portions of bacon, salami and sausages; topped with cheesy cheese.

the second pizza is the Hawaiian Pizza with has sprinkles of marinated cut chicken meat, mushroom and pineapples.

The was then followed by the super fresh water prawn dish which is named as Gangnam Prawn (RM20 per 100g). This fresh water king size prawn was caramelized and deep fried to the right crisp and crunch while retaining the juicy and bouncy prawn meat. This Gangnam is not really a Korean name but a place in China i.e."Kong Lum".

and followed by the BGT Petite Di Pollok (RM25) which is a wrapped chicken breast meat that has a cream based sauce with vegetables served with pan fried potatoes wedges and vegetables.

The meat of the evening was the tender and succulent Grilled Lamb Shoulder (RM41) that comes with mint sauce for us to savour it with.

BGT Lakeview Restaurant & Bar made their very own pasta, the first one that we tasted which is part of the Rainbow Pasta series is the Spinach Fettuccine with Bolognese. They also offer an All you can eat Pasta for lunch at RM18.80; Do check it out if you are a fan of pasta.

followed by the Black Sesame Fettuccine

and the Tomatoes Fettuccine with Carbonara sauce.

After the fettucine we move on to taste the garlic filled Spaghetti Seafood Aglio Oglio (RM29). The seafood used for this pasta was the prawns, mussels, clams and the bouncy white squid.

and the in-house specialty Kong Po Lou Shi Fun (RM21) i.e. 'Mouse Noodles".

Lastly was the Paella Italians (RM29) - A Rice dish topped with Prawns, Mussels, Clams and Squids.

We had 2 dessert for the night; the first of which is the Fruity Crepe Lava (RM21)

and followed by our much anticipated BGT Wood Fired Durian Pizza (RM25). The picture above show that the pizza that is on its' way into the wood fire oven drizzle with mozzarella cheese.

and the final product which has a combination of the strong aroma of the durian and the melted cheese. It was so good, we needed a 2nd and 3rd helping for this delicious dessert.

BGT Lakeview Restaurant & Bar also offers a wide varieties of hard liquor and beer for those that enjoy a drink or two after meal.

If you plan for a nice evening with your loved ones and families, BGT Lakeview Restaurant & Bar at Kelana Park, Kelana Jaya do offer a tempting treat with a nice ambience to soothe a hard day at work.

Pelicana Korean Fried Chicken - ECurve Mutiara Damansara - Delicious Korean Fried Chicken Review.

Most people just loves fried chicken; but a Korean Fried Chicken just came to town. Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to taste out the new Pelicana Korean Fried Chicken located at Level 1, Lot 1-43, eCurve Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya

Pelicana Korean Fried Chicken was established in 1982 in Korea and today has more than 2000 outlet throughout the world. The decor is one of a fast food restaurant style; where you order your delicious fried chicken and then enjoy it.

One of the unique point of Pelicana Fried Chicken is the special recipe batter that it uses to coat the chicken; it does not absorb too much oil during the frying process. This helps the fried chicken to show not too much traces of oil and it also maintain the crispiness even after leaving it for a while. The chicken that is used at Pelicana is a premium chicken which must meet the minimum weight so that each piece of chicken is consistent in its serving size.

Besides serving the 5 types of original Korean Fried Chicken, Pelicana also serves burgers too - much of this later but let start with the signature Fried Chicken.

There are 5 different flavours of Fried Chicken that are served at Pelicana Korean Fried Chicken; the first of which is the Peli Crunchy Fried Chicken.

Smothered with a secret recipe batter, the chicken wings and drumstick are firstly coated with this batter and deep fried to a golden crunch and crisp chicken.

Koreans really love to eat their Fried Chicken with a sauce coating; which the first one; of the four flavour that we are going to eat is coated with the original sauce which is a peanut based sauce that has a tad of slight sweetness and very low spicy taste.

This is the called the Peli Yang Nyeom Original Chicken dose with sprinkle of sesame seed. Note: All the chicken is using the same batter to coat before frying.

While the next is the Peli Yang Nyeom Spring Onion Chicken.

From the taste, we could easily taste that wasabi was one of the ingredient used to make the sauce.

Next, we had the Peli Yang Nyeom Charcoal BBQ Chicken.

This sauce has a second level of spiciness in it. After your first bite, the spiciness taste will lingers around your mouth for some time. It has that special after effect. For those who loves to eat their chicken that has an oomph, you might want to give this a try.

The last flavoured sauce it the Peli Yang Nyeom Hot Spice Chicken.

This sauce have a level 3 spicy level; in that after your first bite, the spicy taste lingers not only in your mouth but in your throat. Seriously, I too find the spicy level a tad too high for me. If you really game to try this my suggestion is either you be prepared to order lots of ice water or

for me a Pina Colada which is a Pineapple Coconut smoothies to go with the Hot Spice Chicken.

At Pelicana Korean Fried Chicken, the side dishes that are served is the seasoned raddish (Musaengchae) , Seaweed salad (Miyeok Muchim) and the Korean Fragrant Rice. The rice is cooked with seaweed and black sesame which was a good complement to the Fried Chicken.

For a big family or a group of friends, you can opt to order a special platter which can be eaten either as a 4 pax or 6 pax set. Ordering this platter allows you and your friends to taste the different flavours of Pelicana Fried Chicken and side orders.

For those that prefers their chicken to be eaten as a burger, you can opt for the Peli Jumbo Fillet Burger which has a piece of golden fried chicken fillet served with tomatoes, lettuce and cheese.

or if you not game for any chicken, you can try out the Peli D'Fish Spicy Burger which is replace by a piece of Fried Fish Fillet.

If you are a real fan or just plainly loves Fried Chicken, you might want to go to Pelicana at the Curve to enjoy this delicious Fried Chicken.

Ramen Ten Tokyo Shin Sushi Japanese Restaurant Jaya 33 Petaling Jaya - Fusion Japanese Ramen With A Twist Review

We had tasted many version of Ramen from different Ramen shop all over Malaysia, Best Restaurant To Eat was invited to preview a special type of Ramen typically served with a twist at Ramen Ten & Shin Tokyo Sushi located at Jaya 33 Lot PG-02B Level Podium Ground Floor Jalan Semangat Section 13 46100 Petaling Jaya.

The setting of Ramen Ten & Shin Tokyo Sushi is simple, clean and modern Japanese setting.

At Ramen Ten, they like to take Ramen eating to a different level; i.e. by giving it a new twist with a different flavours that suits the Asian and in particular the Malaysian market as reviewed by us with the special Ramen Dishes.

To start off our review; we had the Soft Shell Crab To(&) Salmon Skin Salad RM 23.90. The serving of the soft shell was of generous portion as unlike some that we have eaten it is covered with a lot of batter and you can't really figure out whether there is any crab there.

Fresh iceberg lettuce and green coral salad adorn with deep fried whole soft shell crab, crispy salmon skin, cherry tomatoes, carrots topped with a creamy Ni Tamago on an in house made sesame sauce gives it a tantalize taste while the crispy salmon skin and soft shell crab gives the crunch for this refreshing salad.

We then proceeded to taste the Ramen Ten - Santen Sashimi Moriawase (RM 33.90) which consists of the Salmon Sashimi, Salmon Belly Sashimi, Tuna (Maguro) Sashimi. This sashimi platter is served on a bed of shaved ice and decorated in a very nice bowl that pleases our eyes.

As mentioned earlier, most Ramen outlet usually sells the either the Shio (Salt), Shoyu (Soy sauce) or Miso but at Ramen Ten, their chef has created a special Dry version of Ramen which is Chicken Teriyaki Dry Ramen (RM 16.90).

This is quite similar to the Wantan Dry Noodles but with a variation of using Ramen and then to add it up with an in house made Teriyaki sauce which was of the right balance in terms of sweetness level for my taste bud.

The Ramen was cooked to the right texture and retains the springy feels when eaten, while the succulent chicken thigh as the meat based was perfectly grilled with the teriyaki sauce. This Ramen is served with fresh lettuce, carrot and chopped scallion.

Another twist of the Ramen that we tasted here is the Tom Yum Chicken Katsu Ramen (RM 22.05). The soup flavour was very rich and has the right balance in terms of spicy and the sourish level.

It is served with a half tamago lava egg, lime. nori sheets, chopped scallion and some bean sprout and carrots for an added crunch. This Ramen set comes with the Chicken Katsu which is a deep fried breaded crunchy chicken thigh.

For those that prefer rice over Ramen, you can try out Chicken Teriyaki Don Set {RM 17.90), as the Chicken Teriyaki is the same as the earlier Teriyaki Ramen but now replace by the Japanese rice.

This Don Set comes served with 3 side dishes which is a mini salad, miso soup and a half of Ni Tamago (Lava egg).

If you have a big appetite, you can opt to order the Deluxe Combo Set (RM 28.90) which is a combination sets that complete an entire taste experience. In this set, you can taste the different Japanese dishes all in one.

This Deluxe set allows you to taste a little of everything starting with a sashimi, followed by a cold Udon noodles, Japanese rice, a Chawanmushi, some fried tempura, a california roll, miso soup, salad and fruits to complete your entire meal. One thing about the tempura that is served here, We like the light coating and the crisp of the batter which gives a very distinctive crunch when eaten.

Next, we had an offering from the Sushi counter which was the Tuna Mayo Roll (RM 16.90). The chef again has a new twist to this specialty sushi, in that tuna filling is not being rolled into, but as a topped up on the sushi.

This way, we find that you can really taste the chunk of tuna and the ebiko which is covered on the outside of the of the sushi makes eating this sushi roll with a burst feel of the ebiko. It is then topped with a slight Teriyaki sauce to enhance the entire flavour of the sushi.

After that we had the Asari Butter Soup (RM 11.90). The natural taste of the Clam and the clear butter soup was a nice change from our dishes that we had earlier. This will be a good choice to start a meal with a soupy feel.

Another appetizer that we had was the Chuka Santen Moriawase (RM 15.90) which is a selection of 3 types of seasoned seafood dishes which is Chuka Iidako (Seasoned Baby Octopus), Chuka Kurage (Seasoned Jellyfish) and Chuka Sazae (Seasoned Snail).

To finish our meal we had the Matcha Milk Shake (RM 17.90) for dessert. The dessert is a blended Matcha ice cream and topped with whipping cream with soft serve vanilla ice cream, azuki and a sprinkle of matcha powder.

Their New Menu is up and now every diners can enjoy 10% DISCOUNT on TOTAL BILL during their promotion period ~ RM12.90 onwards for their Value Don Sets.
