Do you know that during Ramadan 2018, SW Corp recorded a total of 615,000 metric tonnes of food waste? Now you can cook your leftovers with Mission Food products which were showcased recently by Celebrity Chef and TV Host Ms Sarah Benjamin at Mission Food Malaysia latest campaign FOLDOVER YOUR LEFTOVERS.
To mark this year’s World Food Day on 16th October 2018, Mission Foods Malaysia has joined forces with the lovely Sarah Benjamin to kick off a “Foldover Your Leftovers” campaign. The campaign revisits the old adage “Waste Not Want Not” and aims to inspire people with nifty ideas on how to turn leftovers into brand new delicious meals.
Sarah, previously seen cooking up a storm on the Asian Food Channel, will lead the campaign by Mission Foods Malaysia by sharing recipes and ideas through social media, PSAs and even a recipe booklet which will be available in stores with the purchase of Mission products.
“Ending hunger should begin with each of us. Through this campaign, we wanted to show how simple it is to reuse everyday leftovers by using our products. Reusing leftovers is the easiest thing to do to jump in on this cause and in the long run save each household a lot of money,” said Randall Tan, Brand Manager for Mission Foods South Asia.
Here she shows us how we can use leftovers Satay and its condiments to create the delicious Satay and Peanuts Humus Pita with Mission Foods Wholemeal Pita. With this, we would be able to achieve a #ZeroWaste lifestyle.
To reuse leftover satay, Sarah first created a brilliant peanut hummus by blending the peanut sauce with canned chickpeas, taking it a notch up with added flavours. The hummus was used to line the pita pocket before the satay pieces were added in and made complete with a topping of cucumber herb salad, garnished with pickled onion.
This is followed by the Sezchuan Spiced Chicken Wrap, which uses the leftovers of Hainanese Chicken rice and its leftovers condiments using the Mission Onion and Chives Supersoft Wrap to turn it into an interesting and healthy meal.
Starting from November 2018, Sarah has produced 12 exciting recipes from leftovers that will be available in a limited edition booklet which will be given away complimentary to shoppers for every two Mission products purchased at all participating stores, so, hurry up to get your latest copy of this creative recipe using leftovers.
The next time you have any leftovers to spare, don’t throw them away. Step up to the plate, and #FoldoverYourLeftovers.

Indian Restaurant MAHESHA In TTDI KL Serves Baby Coconut Briyani
We join the fun and excitement at the Mahesha TTDI EAT FOR FREE Baby Coconut Briyani at launch on 28th September 2018.
Watch our video on Youtube on our experience at Mahesha TTDI
Restoran Mahesha TTDI introduces the Baby Coconut Briyani Rice with a selection of either Chicken Briyani, Duck Briyani, Mutton Briyani, Sting Ray Briyani and so on. The coconut flesh and aroma will seep into the rice which has the taste of the spices.
For us, we tasted ad the Chicken Briyani. Due to the use of coconut flesh in cooking this Briyani, it has a slightly sweeter taste than the classic Nasi Briyani which is more savoury in its flavour.
For those that want to know or maybe try to cook it, we share a little secret of the ingredients/recipe for MAHESHA Baby Coconut Briyani:-
Fresh Coconut Flesh
Steam Masala Briyani Rice
Roasted Cashew Nuts and Ghee
Masala Chicken (or Mutton, Duck, Fish) of your choice.
One boil egg
Roasted Coconut
All the above ingredients and condiment put into the coconut and steam for 10 minutes and there you have it Mahesha Baby Coconut Briyani.
Mahesha’s Baby Coconut Briyani is served on a banana leaf with a side of raita and chutney.
Besides serving the this Baby Coconut Briyani, Mahesha also serves the traditional Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian Banana Leaf rice with lots of varieties to choose from.
Try the Baby Coconut Briyani today at Restoran MAHESHA TTDI:
NASI LEMAK is Malaysian favourite breakfast meal and for some of us, it can also be an anytime meal. I believe most Malaysian will vouch for Nasi Lemak for their version of the best Nasi Lemak recipe or their best stall to have this dish.
In conjunction with the celebration of Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day 2018, Pancake House is offering its' very own Nasi Lemak Pancake. As Pancake House is famous for its pancake - making a Nasi Lemak rendition from the pancake is an expected deal from them.
Here at Pancake House, you can enjoy their Pancake House version of Nasi Lemak; which is using pancake as the base instead of the famed coconut milk rice. Available at all the Pancake House branch, you can now enjoy this Nasi Lemak dish via an a la carte order or as a set which comes with specially concocted Nasi Lemak Shake.
Serving of the Nasi Lemak Pancake is 2 pieces of pandan flavoured pancake which is sandwiched by pieces of freshly sliced cucumber with their very own concocted sambal offering which has a sweeter undertone.
Packed at the sides are a generous serving of fried anchovies and fried ground nuts with 2 pieces of Pancake House Fried Crispy Chicken and a sunny side up to complete this rendition.
To complement the Nasi Lemak Pancake is the Nasi Lemak Shake; which is another classic concoction that is derived from the Nasi Lemak ingredients. The bottom layer of this shake is a pandan syrup while the upper layer is a blending of coconut milk with crush ground nuts, anchovies and chillies which makes this drink a savoury drink. The drink is then topped with fried anchovies and fried groundnut.
Diners can order this Nasi Lemak Pancake Set Meal; which comes with a drink of Nasi Lemak Shake for RM 27.90 only. Alternatively, the ala carte Nasi Lemak Pancake by itself is priced at RM 19.90 while the Nasi Lemak Shake is RM12.90.
Another new dish from the Pancake House new menu is the Prawn Aglio Olio (RM19.95). The pasta is cooked with garlic oil with freshly cut chilli padi which infused some spicy taste and serve with 3 Fried Tiger Prawns.
