CHINESE NEW YEAR SET MENU: Chinese New Year is around the corner, Oriental Chinese Cuisine @ Pullman Kuala Lumpur Bangsar presents its' Chinese New Year Set Menu 2020 (Year of Metal Rat).

For this year, there is 3 set menu to choose from to usher this New Year. We had the opportunity to taste one of the set menus which is the Gold Prosperity Set Menu RM1,499 Nett.

The Yee Sang that was served on this set menu is the Salmon Fish Snow Pear Yee Sang

CHINESE NEW YEAR SET MENU 2020 - Braised  Eight Treasure Soup With Shredded Fish Maw

This is then followed by the Braised  Eight Treasure Soup With Shredded Fish Maw. Rich with choices of ingredient, it is a marvel to taste this flavourful and hearty to start the dinner course.

CHINESE NEW YEAR SET MENU 2020 - Steamed Village Chicken With Cordyceps Flower and Chinese Herbs

Most restaurant will usually serve poached village chicken or roast chicken but here we were served with the Steamed Village Chicken With Cordyceps Flower and Chinese Herbs. The Chef has spent considerable hours to prepare and cook this dish which has a strong herbal flavour that was infused into the tender chicken meat.

CHINESE NEW YEAR SET MENU 2020 - Braised Abalone With Sea Cucumber And Fish Maw

The star of the night has to be this dish which is the Braised Abalone With Sea Cucumber And Fish Maw. The Sea Cucumber was braised to the soft chewy texture that mops up the sauce. The crunchy bite of the broccoli adds a great combination to the abalone firm texture.

For the fish dish, we were served Steamed Pearl Tiger Grouper With Choy Po and Soy Sauce. With the addition of the Choy Po, it gives a very distinctive savoury taste which married perfectly to the natural flavour of the succulent grouper fish meat.

CHINESE NEW YEAR SET MENU 2020 - Wok Fried Live Tiger Prawn With Honey Sauce

For the happiness sounding dish - prawns is a must which represents joy and laughter which is the Wok Fried Live Tiger Prawn With Honey Sauce. The honey sauce which was caramelised into the prawns makes it a delight to eat the firm texture prawns with your hands.

Fried Glutinous Rice With BBQ Chicken And Mushroom. This rice is served with an individual wrapping with salted eggs. The taste of the rice reminiscent the popular "Lo Ma Kai" flavour.

CHINESE NEW YEAR SET MENU 2020 - Home Made Deep Fried Nian Gao

For dessert, we were served the Home Made Deep Fried Nian Gao. The Chef has used a special wrapping that was crispy while the Nian Gao was still gluey in the inside. This is probably one of the best ways to enjoy the Nian Gao.
