Kuala Lumpur Food: Fans of North Indian Cuisine have now gotten a new place at the popular Kuala Lumpur food central which is THE LINC KL. The SPICE GARDEN Restaurant is located at Lot 1-3, The Linc KL, Jalan Tun Razak, Taman U Thant, 55000 Kuala Lumpur is a well known Indian Restaurant, serving authentic Indian and Middle-Eastern fares.

The SPICE GARDEN @ The LINC KL was opened about 6 months ago to continue the legacy of serving a wide variety of flavourful dishes that are crafted out using recipes, that blends fresh spices and herbs from India which are cooked to perfection to muster the taste-buds of its customers.

According to the restaurant Chef Bharat Batra, "We cook our dishes using centuries-old recipes and techniques to prepare these authentic Indian cuisines. What makes our dishes special are the usage of original spices and herbs. We do not use any artificial flavouring, colouring or preservatives in the cooking of our dishes".

SPICE GARDEN @ THE LINC KL Authentic Indian and Middle Eastern Cuisine

Among some of the favourite dishes in the Spice Garden menu is their Tandoor dishes, the first of which that we tasted for the night is, of course, the SPICE GARDEN Tandoori Chicken (RM60 Per bird). Tandoori dishes are marinated in yoghurt with herbs and spices and then cooked in the tandoor kept at a very high temperature with burning charcoal. The radiant heat thus generated together with charcoal does the cooking and seals in the goodness of the smoky taste of charcoal that also lends the food a very special flavour.

The next dish, from the Tandoor, is the Venison Seekh Kebabs (RM 58.00). There are not many Indian Restaurant that serves Venison, Here at SPICE GARDEN, there are a number of Venison dishes that are served at the restaurant, we had a taste of Venison on kebabs that has a nice smoky taste. Best eaten with the enclosed sauce and with an order of Naan.



This Khazana Mutton Biryani (RM 80++ for two persons) is quite unique and according to the Chef, Spice Garden is probably the first one that offers biryani rice cook inside a bread. This is quite similar to the cooking Curry Bun (from Lukut).



According to the Chef, this method of cooking encapsulates the flavour inside the bread, in the process, the meat is fork-tender while the rice has the full flavour of the complementary spices and meat.



Most Indian restaurant serves their version of 65 which happens to be using the chicken, tonight we got to taste this 65 using Seabass fish 65 (RM42 for 2 pax). We love this dish as it has a nice strong taste of mustard. The gravy was addictive and another dish that goes perfectly with white rice or a piece of Naan bread. Needless to say, the dish was full scoped up to the last drop of the 65 gravy.



One of the few dishes that most Indian restaurant serves is the buffalo cheese which is known as Palak Paneer aka Plat Panir - Spinach (RM30).



Next is the Chicken Tikka Almond Milk Gravy  (RM32). The chicken is cooked with almond milk that has a nice taste of Almond. We notice that the chicken served at the restaurant is skinless.



The Coastal Chronical Red Snapper which has its' fish meat battered and fried and braised in a special in-house sauce.



Another twist to another popular dish is the Venison Rogan Josh, this dish is more popularly serves with Mutton. The version at SPICE GARDEN is more watery instead of the creamy type which we are accustomed to. By the way, if you miss your mutton, you can order it to be cooked in it too.



There are quite a number of different Naan that is served here. You can order the normal or the wholemeal version.
