CHINESE NEW YEAR COOKIES: When it comes to Chinese New Year, the first most symbolic Chinese New Year cookies is the Kuih Kapit (南洋鸡蛋卷) aka Love Letters.

This is followed by the Pineapples Tarts which comes in many styles, the most popular of it is the open-faced and enclosed style. Pineapples tarts are not only synonymous to Chinese New Year but also popular cookies during Hari Raya and other festivities in Malaysia.

For those familiar with the restaurant, Urban Daybreak specialises in Australian all-day breakfast.



Urban After Dark incorporates Australia’s diversified culture by combining Asian and Western flavours into the new menu. “This is one of the menus since Urban Daybreak's launching that makes me fall in love with food all over again,” says Douglas Goh, the Head Chef of Urban Daybreak. “We see this as an outbreak of our norms, challenging the untouched since we opened Urban Daybreak in Penang.

CHINESE NEW YEAR 2020: Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa start the Lunar New Year celebrations with exciting festive offerings under the theme “An Auspicious Beginning” for a memorable Year of the Metal Rat from 6 January to 8 February 2020.

During this festive celebration period, the hotel’s main street of Persiaran Lagoon will be decorated with red lanterns and gold fairy lights, allowing all to soak in the lunar new year atmosphere in Sunway City Kuala Lumpur. The rat which symbolises the beginning of a new cycle is illustrated with Chinese drums where guests will be welcomed by a towering arrangement of drums with abstract floral patterns and lanterns in the centre of the lobby area of Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, complemented by large pots of kumquat trees symbolising prosperity and luck, ushering the lunar new year.
